Background Information/Organizational Context

HR intern will be assisting and providing support on HR Services within Tyre FO. The work carried out will be in compliance with the studies of the incumbent and will help develop his/her competencies related to human resources , client services , staff welfare and career management. The intern should be enrolled in a degree program or a freshly graduate(within 1 year) in a relevant field e.g. Business Management , HR Management or any related fields.

Duties and Responsibilities

The HR Intern will be providing assistance in all elements of the recruitment process through:

  • Contacting/Coordinating candidate interviews and testing including sending the pertaining correspondences.
  • Sending reference checks of candidates and Completing/mailing out regret letters.
  • The Intern will support the daily HR activities and staff requests including tracing and following up on staff inquiries.
  • Supporting in organizing learning,induction and refresher sessions.
  • Proofreading HR documents and preparing Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents.
  • Doing research on applicability of rules on entitlements .
  • Support in initiating draft correspondence for HR queries.
  • Assisting in daily filing of documents.
  • Properly handling staff routine requests through responsiveness and follow ups.
  • Supporting in tracking the monthly training activities .
  • Maintaining a satisfied level of service with staff members.

Minimum Qualifications Required List the required education, work experience, expertise and competencies of the individual contractor. The listed education and experience should correspond with the level at which the contract is offered. Enrolled in a degree program in a graduate school (or recently graduated within 1 year) in the field of Law, Business Management, Administration, HR Management, Social Sciences, Organizational Psychology, Information Technology or other HR related fields. Good in planning, organizing and structuring various tasks and responsibilities; Fluent in written and spoken English/Arabic. Knowledge of other UN languages is an advantage; Eligibility In order to be considered for an internship, candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria: Recent graduate (those persons who completed their studies within one year of applying) or current student in a graduate/undergraduate school programme from a university or higher education facility accredited by UNESCO; and Have completed at least two years of undergraduate studies in a field relevant or of interest to the work of the Organization. An individual whose father, mother, son, daughter, brother or sister is a staff member of UNHCR, including a Temporary Appointment holder or a member of the Affiliate Workforce, is not eligible for an internship.
