Livelihood Trainer - Sewing and Crochet - Bekaa Area (Repost)

Background: The Livelihood Trainer will be responsible of organizing and conducting trainings and workshops on livelihood subjects.

Purpose:  The purpose of this scope of work is to support the procurement of the services of the livelihood Trainer to plan for, travel to and/or implement the Livelihood Trainings.

Task Description: Consultant will serve as the Livelihood Trainer project’s activity in Lebanon.  Specifically, Consultant will complete the following tasks:

  • Organize and conduct trainings and workshops on livelihood subjects, including but not limited to: Sewing, Crochet
  • Provide job and employment coaching and mentoring support to individuals and in group format; 
  • Design and/or update training methodology, content and materials; 
  • Gather evaluation material of pre-post surveys and feedback from participants and review results to maximize effectiveness; 
  • Identify key areas of focus for soft & life-skills and livelihoods training and coaching through in-depth reviews based on training outcomes and desk review; 
  • Draft training reports covering all trainings sides and results from the training up to coaching, including lessons learned, gaps, opportunities, and suggested amendments.  
  • Provide support in conducting livelihoods (job and employment) information awareness raising sessions in the targeted communities; 
  • Provide support in needs assessment surveys for future livelihoods programming; 
  • Submit weekly progress reports of the activities to GBV Program Coordinator; 
  • Perform other relevant duties, as needed or requested. 

Deliverables/Due Dates/Payment Schedule:

  • Provide training f on livelihood within May 2021. Each training course should consist of 64 sessions, each 4 sessions conducted in one day, total training days to complete 1 course is 16.
  • Depending on the COVID-19 Situation the sessions might be conducted. First, the trainer will create a WhatsApp group for each training group to inform the beneficiaries and keep them up to date with any details that are related to the sessions. Second, the trainer has to review the curriculum and prepare relevant and high resolution photographed videos no more than 15 minutes. The session will be shared on a private you tube channel created specifically for this project. Once the video is uploaded, the link will be sent on the WhatsApp group. Third, a suitable date and time will be set by the coach coordinating with the participants to have discussions if they have any comments or questions. This discussion will be conducted on the Zoom application and this will be recorded.

  • Provide the trainees with relevant material related to the topic of the training, so that they can practice.
  • Provide at least 50% of the trainees with internship opportunities in the local market once they finish the course.
  • Provide at least 20% of the trainees with job opportunities in the local market
  • Provide venues in the areas where the trainings will take place

Develop end of course report after each training course, and end of consultancy report

  • Very good listening and facilitation skills – capable of managing and facilitating group discussions with program participants, local officials, partners and all levels of staff
  • Ability to mobilize people – to develop and maintain relationships with staff and communities to ensure their participation in International Medical Corps ways of working

Location of Work: Consultant resides in Lebanon and will conduct her/his work in Bekaa Area.
