Data Entry Operator (in Beirut for Damascus support)

Purpose:
The Protection Data Entry Operator carries out data processing of information on people entitled to protection under international humanitarian law using specialized case-management software.
Place of employment: Beirut for Damascus support.
One year contract renewable.
Certifications / Education required:
• Bachelor Degree.
• Very good command of English, French is an asset.
• Computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (knowledge of SQL or Virtual Basic programming languages an asset).
Professional Experience required:
• Experience working with databases.
• No ICRC experience required.
Responsibilities:
• Carries out data processing, including tallies, typing, etc.; ensures that the collected data is reported as per working procedures and that the necessary documents are provided.
• Controls the data entry made by the field teams and reports errors/discrepancies/etc. to the creators of the data; keeps the data manager aware about the quality of the data entry.
• Participates in data corrections.
• Carries out basic data analysis upon request.
• Carries out simple office work such typing, filing, photocopying, etc.; creates the individual files for the new beneficiaries; pre-numbers the registration cards.
• Updates individuals' protection paper files (registrations cards, individual files, reference files, etc.) and follows up on them closely; attaches electronic documents according to the procedures.
• Processes the Protection Archive documents to send to Geneva and the Assistance Reconciliation files to send to Manila.
• Participates in the revision and improvement of the reference documents such as workflows, data entry procedures, etc.
• May be asked to translate forms and data from the local language to English or French and vice versa.
