EuroMed Feminist Initiative (EFI) is a policy network that provides expertise in the field of gender equality, democracy building and citizenship, and advocates for political solutions to all conflicts, and peoples´ rights to self-determination. The Overall Responsibility as a Program Coordinator is:

  • To support the management and development of EFI’s programs and strategies and ensure that partners’ projects and activities effectively meet EFI’s short-term and long-term objectives and goals.
  • To contribute to elaborating EFI’s strategic framework and identifying opportunities that would contribute into the achievement of EFI’s goals and vision.
  • To assist in the development of responsive strategies and the design and implementation of new and ongoing projects.

We seek a person who:

  • Ensures the effectiveness and success of projects, the timely implementation of all activities and the meeting of deadlines.
  • Follows up and monitors project budget specifically for operation lines; works closely with Communication Officer, Finance Team and Logistics Team in respect of EFI main framework such as procurement, ethical guidelines and anti-corruption policy.
  • Provides EFI’s partners with technical, follow up and organizational development support.
  • Supports development of partner’s projects including feasibility, project design, budget, reports and the development of new ideas, concepts, policies and practices.
  • Identifies the capacity gaps and requirements of EFI’s partners and accordingly assists in the design and delivery of partner training and support activities.
  • Ensures the monitoring and evaluation of partners’ projects, including budget management, according to approved plans and agreements with partners.
  • Organizes regular meetings with partners to discuss project impediments, risks and assumptions, needed resources or issues/delays in completing planned tasks.
  • Prepares and submits timely and quality weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual and other relevant reports on all issues pertaining to program implementation, meetings, achievements, challenges and other relevant issues.
  • Leads the base line survey, project assessments, designs and weekly/monthly planning and review meetings.
  • Organizes and coordinates workshops, seminars and meetings with partners and stakeholders.
  • Conducts field visits as needed and when required.
  • Develops and maintains strong partnership relations and ensures smooth and fruitful communication with all partners and stakeholders.
  • Promotes EFI’s image and vision to local and international NGOs, UN and development agencies, partners, government, specialized networks and relevant actors.
  • On request, represents EFI at seminars, conferences, meetings and other events, and acts as a spokesperson appropriately.
  • Takes part in regular staff meeting and ensures the weekly task report to be in line with performance management; contributes to data and records collection for the audit process.

Team Collaboration:

This position reports directly to Head of Programs and Executive Director.

Close collaboration with Regional MEAL Manager and Program Team at Headquarters in Paris.

Regular contact with EFI’s partners in the MENA region.

 

Job requirement:

  • University degree in social sciences or development studies or peace and conflict. Relevant courses related to gender studies, conflict management, advocacy, project cycle management.
  • Excellent written and oral communication in English and Arabic is essential. French language is desirable.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office application, knowledge of online and social media tools is a plus.

 

Skills-set:

  • A three to five years’ experience in project design and implementation.
  • An established record or proven ability to conduct strategic planning, program development and monitoring and evaluation
  • Knowledge in administrative and accounting procedures and financial reporting.
  • Experience in advocacy campaigns and knowledge of civil society and networking.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the situation and challenges in the MENA region
  • Experience in organizing capacity building workshops, conferences, meetings and events.
  • Ability to work closely and establish positive relationships with local structure and to engage with various stakeholders.
  • Experience in local or international organizational representation.
  • Capacity to carry out successful baseline survey, outreach and use M&E tools.
  • Knowledge of women’s right, international law, including human rights, humanitarian law, criminal law and regional and international human rights mechanisms.

  • This role is open for qualified Lebanese candidates.
  • Duty station is in Beirut, in Badaro area.
  • A fixed-term position with contract length of 12 (twelve) months extendable.
