Livelihoods – Training of Counsellors for Career Counselling

Concern Livelihoods program will be implementing integrated activities to promote income generations,  improve decent work awareness among job seekers and conduct career counselling trainings in the multiple areas of North Lebanon and Akkar under ARC funding.  Career Counselling awareness sessions will take place from Nov 2018 – July 2019 at 08 newly established career counselling centers in five Social Development Centers (SDCs) and TVET schools of Akkar and T-5 by career counsellors.

Through career counselling and job placement Concern intends to support the efforts of government of Lebanon to create a self-sustainable, dependable income generation source as well as a solid set of skills to help them in their future careers.

Through career counselling attendees will be given set of skills and capabilities, for active job hunt, approaching the employer, constructive use of social media and appropriate presentation of self through CV and during interviews. Based on the opportunities career counselling will also facilitate job seekers to work as apprentices or a permanent employee based on his/her qualification, interest, aptitude and experience. In addition, counselors will help job seekers pick the right career to pursue in the future according to their capabilities and skills. Career counsellors will also facilitate sessions of legal expert to advise on legal rights to ensure fair job conditions in line with Concern’s focus on “Decent Work for ALL” agenda for stable economic growth and reduced unemployment.

Under this assignment, Concern is seeking to procure services of Consultancy Company and/or team of individual consultants to train a class of 25 career counsellors who will be responsible to organize multiple awareness sessions for job seekers after the training. Career counsellor will also set-up career counselling centers at 8 locations for the provision of information.

Career counsellors in groups of 25 will receive 18 sessions divided as follow;

4 sessions on communication and self management for result based management of tasks;

6 sessions on facilitation and training skills and;

8 sessions on career counseling as per training outline (annex- i)

And  consultant will hold a second 4 days long training work shop for 25 participants as follow;
