Job Description:
The Accountant and Administrative Coordinator supports the Centre for Lebanese Studies by ensuring the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and booking transactions; reconciling account balances and bank statements, maintaining general ledger and preparing month-end close procedures. Also, the Accountant and Administrative Coordinator will handle administrative and logistical tasks related to the project.
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:
· Handle all accounting transaction in compliance with IFRS.
· In charge of preparing all bank transfers, correspondences, and reconciliation.
· Issuing payments and suppliers reconciliation.
· Project Management, including:
o Allocation of grants and expenses into related projects
o Proper documentation and filing of each project
o Prepare Project budgets
o Compare and control Budget vs. Actual figures and report differences
· Assist the Financial Manager in preparing Financial Reports, Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow and yearly budget.
· Preparing official declarations: NSSF – Tax on salary – etc…
· Setting and implementing accounting policies and procedure.
· Liaise with auditors.
· Liaise with the project manager with all the budget updates related to the project
· Petty cash management.
· Responsible for the archive and filing system.
· Process Payables, Receivables and Payroll.
· Organize logistics and purchase materials needed for the projects.
· Organize workshops and events related to the projects
Contribute to the dissemination of information about the organizations’ activities in the press, on Facebook and CLS’s websites.
Skills and Competencies:
- Thorough knowledge of financial accounting statements
- Hands-on experience with accounting software packages
- Advanced MS Office tools especially excel skills
- Excellent analytical skills and good aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
- Accuracy and attention to detail, meticulous
- Fluent in Speaking, Reading and Writing English and Arabic
- Proven ability to produce results within tight deadlines in a complex environment
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to work within a team
- Efficient and Effective team and task management
