Community Health Officer

Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Support Health Coordinator in recruiting Community Health Volunteers. 
• Perform administrative work for the outreach activities (prepare incentive payments, keep administrative file for each volunteer .etc)  
• Supervise and support ten Community Health Volunteer to conduct outreach visits and health awareness sessions in the communities. 
• Develop different awareness tools such as lesson plans and educational booklets. 
• Create a capacity building plan. 
• Facilitate and organize training for Community Health Volunteers on different health topics. 
• Create weekly schedule of activities to be conducted by Community Health Volunteers. 
• Promote basic health education and promotion to refugees on health topics.  
• Conduct health education sessions in the refugee community and in public institutions. 
• Responsible for distribution of non-food items and keep records. 
• Keep records of all volunteers’ assets and ensure availability and properly used. 
• Refer refugees to designated primary health care center and proper organization. 
• Carry out field assessments and surveys (focus group discussions, barrier analysis, KPC… etc) 
• Organize and compliment campaigns and activities. 
• Submit weekly and monthly reports to Health Coordinator including awareness database, referral database, monitoring visit sheets...etc. 
• Keep proper track and records on program materials (eg: incentives…etc) 
• Conduct systematic phone calls with beneficiaries of Community Health activities to validate data collected by volunteers and performance quality. 
• Attend training sessions and capacity building workshops provided by humedica and other INGOs. 
• Attend meetings recommended by Health and Area Coordinators. 
• Perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Post is based in the humedica office in Zahle, Central Bekaa. Most of the field work will be conducted in tents, and the employee will spend 95% in the field 

Skills:

• Excellent computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) are essential 
• Working knowledge in the provision of maternal and child health 
• Work experience minimum 2-3 years in relevant field 
• Previous working experience with INGO is a must 
• Fluency in English and Arabic is essential
