BACKGROUND:

Secours Islamique France (SIF), with co-financing from the French Government are implementing a three-year Livelihoods Project, entitled “My Career, My Choice” in partnership with two Lebanese NGOs and local Social Development Centers (SDCs) The project will be implemented in Beirut-Mount Lebanon and the North. Under this project, 540 young women will receive livelihoods support through career cancelling, technical and vocational training and job placements to identify and follow their chosen career paths.    

 

SCOPE OF WORK:

The High Quality Employability Consultant will be responsible for providing capacity building to local NGOs and Social Development Centers (SDCs) on High Quality Employability Programs through coaching, mentoring and the provision of TOT training to the selected local NGO and SDC facilitators to a) strengthen their capacity to a) lead career guidance programs, b) holistically create comprehensive and sustainable employment and skills development opportunities, with special focus on social inclusion and c) outreach to vulnerable young women through promoting the employability of young women through job placements. The training will be undertaken in two (2) locations in Beirut-Mount Lebanon and North Lebanon and consist of eight (8) progressive training modules per training program.

 

CONTRACT OUTPUTS:

  • Develop a High Quality Employability curriculum, consisting of of eight 8) training modules, which includes, but not be limited to:
  • Preparing employability Action Plans for young women.
  • Identifying sectors with high employment opportunities based on labor market research and analysis.
  • Building relationships with potential employers to facilitate job matching.
  • Tools and techniques for providing career guidance to vulnerable young women
  • Preparing young women for the job market: CV writing, identifying opportunities, job application letters, document preparation, interview skills.
  • Coaching young women to enhance their employability
  • Job matching young women with job market.
  • The creation of job networks for referrals to job placements and employment opportunities.
  • Deliver 1 training programs of eight (8) modules to SDC and NGO facilitators, one in BML one in the North and one in Chouf, based on the approved training curriculum
  • Propose actions to enhance project sustainability through the connection of young women to the job market through NGO and SDC facilitators.
  • Maintain attendance records, case notes and other records related to trainings progress.
  • roduce a training report which includes facilitator learning progress and recommendations.

  • Post-training report, with recommendations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Education: Advanced University degree in Business, Economics, Social Sciences or any other field relevant to development.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years experience in high employability quality programs and support.
  • Languages: Excellent command of English and Arabic (speaking and writing).

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

  • Experience in the high-quality employability through private sector, and cooperative organizations.
  • Knowledge of issues relating to women’s rights, gender, humanitarian, development issues, and protection responses.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a supportive technical and communication style.
  • Ability to work well with partners including local authorities.
  • Understanding of the structural, social and financial struggles of vulnerable job-seekers
  • An understanding of and commitment to SIF’s mission and values
  • Patience and positive attitude is highly requested
  • Strong market and private sector knowledge
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Excellent command of written and oral English and Arabic
  • Good Presentation skills
