The Popular Aid for Relief and Development (PARD) is a local Lebanese organization working with Refugees in Lebanon as well as poor Lebanese, following the explosion in Beirut Port, PARD will implement a 1 year food security project in Karantina (Mdawar), Burj Hammoud and Naba'a. The project will help almost 1000 families monthly over a period of 1 year.

We are looking for an experienced, proactive Social Field Assistant to work collaboratively with our team on specific short and long-term projects. In this role, you will oversee tasks delegated to you by the project coordinator, coordinate with all necessary vendors, service providers and ensure that the project is moving forward on time and on budget. You will need to be highly organized, adaptable and able to prioritize tasks while working independently. The ability to motivate others and keep them on task in a positive and encouraging manner is also a must-have skill in this position.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Identify people and communities in need of help
• Assess people needs, situations, strengths, and support networks to determine their goals
• Help people adjust to changes and challenges in their lives
• Research, refer, and advocate for community resources, such as food stamps, childcare, and healthcare to assist and improve people well-being
• Respond to crisis situations such as child abuse and mental health emergencies
• Follow up with people to ensure that their situations have improved
• Maintain case files and records
• Develop and evaluate programs and services to ensure that basic people needs are met

Advocacy is an important aspect of social work. Social workers advocate or raise awareness with and on behalf of the community and the social work profession on local, and national levels.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required
• Minimum of 2 years’ relevant work experience in the humanitarian assistance
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
• Keen attention to detail and an aptitude for problem-solving
• Able to proactively address potential issues
• Excellent computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite
• Significant hands-on experience with industry-specific software
• Collaborative working style and team-player attitude
• Positive and encouraging personality
• Able to work independently with little supervision
• Highly motivated with a strong ethic
• Excellent command in English and Arabic
