About Association Najdeh:
Association Najdeh (AN) was founded in 1977 and registered in 1978 - as an independent Lebanese non-governmental organization (NGO). Najdeh’s mission is to contribute to uncovering and  challenging the present gender power structures in order to correct the gender power misbalance through providing direct service that empowering women to fight discrimination and oppression of women and bringing about positive changes not only for women but  for the whole society. Association Najdeh aims at strengthening the women’s self-organizing, voices, actions and power by supporting and creating safe spaces for exchange. Najdeh strives to develop a cross cultural feminist and women’s rights discourse based on the universality of women’s rights and to promote and integrate it into the different democratic and social movements and policy making. Within this context Najdeh’s main goal is to eliminate the discrimination against Palestinian refugee women in Lebanon for promoting their participatory role and equal rights at the social, economical and political levels.
To achieve its mission AN offers several programs that mainly focus on women. Among these, women’s rights program; vocational training, psychosocial and popular education, mother and child – pre-school, income generation projects, social affairs and advocacy.
 
BACKGROUND
 
The one year project supported by Radiohjalpen (Sweden), Norwegian Association of Disabled (NAD) and Diakonia responds to the urgent humanitarian needs of Palestinian refugees from Syria (PRS) and their hosting community in Lebanon. The project aims at empowering communities, especially PRS women to identify, prevent and respond to protection risks throughout the creation of safe spaceto gain knowledge and identify potential risks related to their and their children’s protection as well as strengthening PRS Women’s ability to pursue their legal and social protection. 
The project is implemented by Association Najdeh and Diakonia Lebanon from November 2015 to October 2016 in four camps; Ain el Helwe, Burj el Barajneh, Baddawi, and Burj el Shemali. Its Targeting: 1300 women, 600 men, 50 ISF, media and humanitarian staffwith intensive coordination with disabled people's organization.
 
JOB TITLE
Consultant – Specialist in inclusion and protection of people with disabilities.
 
 
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
 
Association Najdeh and Diakonia are looking for a Consultant to conduct an assessment for four centres in four different geographical locations in Lebanon to assess the inclusion aspect and to advise on how to mainstream disability in protection activities in line with international norms. The aim of the assessment is to propose the needs to uphold the existing four centres to serve as safe spaces with mainstreamed inclusion on both physical and soft capacities’ levels.  
 
On a later stage, a guideline will be developed and disseminated based on the assessment of the four centres.
 
 
SCOPE
-          Assess Najdeh’s four centres in four different camps in the frame of international norms and best practice and identify opportunities for the disability inclusion and mainstreaming in protection activities. 
-          Conduct a technical appraisal of Najdeh’s psychological, social and legal counselling services in these centres and identifying strengths, opportunities and gaps to address within the scope of mainstreaming disability in all protection activities
-          Propose interventions addressing needs of the staff, e.g. technical support and trainings.
 
QUALIFICATIONS
-          Expert in inclusion and protection. Post graduate qualification in inclusion and protection is strongly preferred.
-          At least 7 years of experience in design, management, monitoring and evaluation of inclusion and protection programs.
-          Substantial and direct experience of programme design and implementation in Arab countries. Previous experience in the Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon is a strong asset.
-          Fluency in written and spoken English. Working knowledge of Arabic strongly preferred.
