Al Mawsam

This initiative was born in 2004, following the closure of the two main independent theatres of the city. Al-mawsam re-opened an old forgotten cultural space; Estral I & II, the movie-theatre. During a three months period, al-mawsam presented more than 25 cultural events, welcoming more than 10.000 persons. The final step of the 1st edition of al-mawsam was to analyze and evaluate the whole work, being able to prepare a better program for 2006. The outcomes of the analysis were the objectives of al-mawsam 2006.
In 2006, al-mawsam tried to have a varied cultural program. By offering different and diverse events, we aimed at attracting different kind of audiences. Our program had activities of interest to children (puppet and clown shows), to students (movie projections, student theatre productions, concerts, conferences, Lebanese theatre repertoire, etc
