Facilitate project’s implementation

Provides ongoing support, guidance and advice to program staff in the field of Focused Psychosocial Support.

Ensures use of uniform methods, tools and forms in activities and training following CPHA Tech Lead guidance.

Supports the identification of children in need for FPSS and support and support in the advocacy process.

Ensure that Focused PSS is delivered in line with global minimum standards and national inter-agency SOPs/standards and in line with WVL’s guidelines.

Generates overview of quality of FPSS in WV Bekaa: status, methods used and results achieved;

Coordinate the implementation of the Child Protection Project activities, oversee the implementation of Child Protection Standards/Child Safe Organization andensuring deliverables and targets are met.

Monitor the implementation and progress of the project(s) according to approved stated objectives, plan of action, budget and record progress by working closely with the Evaluation, learning and accountability unit and the Child Protection Manager.

Ensure all Protection and CP cases of are properly referred and documented, and followed up on in a timely manner.

Conduct regular spot checks to the FPSS Classrooms to ensure CP standards and principles are in place and report on them to line manager and CP Technical Officer and CPHA Tech Lead.

Engage partners and different communities to assess the needs and capacities to ensure healthy partnerships and facilitate the implementation process effectively

Ensure Staff Management

Assist in recruiting field staff and temporary staff and provide the needed technical support to them in the preparation during the implementation of the project activities.

Management of the performance of direct reports with continuous feedback to ensure proper performance management;

Build and strengthen teamwork among the project staff, ensuring a conducive working atmosphere is created and opportunities provided to share lessons learned, experiences, observations and challenges to inform project management.

Create an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture.

Handle Staff Capacity Building

Support the CP Technical Officer in providing coaching, mentoring and training to the social workers, social worker assistant on FPSS curriculum for children and caregivers.

Support the CP Technical Officer in providing technical capacity building on PSS, CP and GBV protection concepts, safe identification and referral and confidentiality and informed consent to staff and partners including other CBOs, NGOs, and stakeholders.

Together with the Child Protection Manager, plan and provide opportunities for capacity building to project team in consultation with P&C Department to ensure coordinated technical and personal development.

Ensure children’s safety and protection

Responsible for the security of project staff, ensuring that staff abides by WVL security procedures and policies. Report any security breaches as necessary.

Participate in personal safety training as required

Undertake any other duties as shall be delegated by the supervisor.

Handle tracking, reporting on activities and filing

Maintain and keep daily records of the MOV means of verifications including attendance sheets, pre/post-tests, minutes of meetings, and evaluation documents are in place.

Ensure the tracking of the referrals, weekly reports, notes and plan.

Follow up on the Referral Tracking sheet on a monthly basis.

Follow up on the important records and correspondences related to the FPSS classes.

Handle logistics responsibilities as necessary

Ensure procurement requests are submitted on a timely basis to facilitate timely implementation of field activities, and adhering to both WVI and donor requirements in meeting the project objectives.

Ensure that the needed material, rehabilitation and logistics of the determined locations is taking place.

Perform other duties as required

Attend and participate in capacity building trainings locally and internationally.

Attend and participate in WVL’s spiritual nurture and other organizational events.

Responsible of own security and actively contribute to a positive security culture.

Abide by the security policies and procedures and report any incidents or breaches to line manager and / or security manager.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Line Manager.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  1. Bachelor degree in a social sciences related field, (psychology, social work, specialized education or social animation) or an equivalent of relevant CP experience of 2-3 years;
  2. Proven work experience as a Project Coordinator or similar role
  3. Very good understanding of Child Protection standards, principles and policies;
  4. Good written and spoken English. Knowledge or Arabic language is necessary.
  5. Strong, Leadership and interpersonal skills.
  6. Experience in working with child labour (street children and children expose to high risk)
  7. Knowledge of the mental health & psychosocial guidelines and approaches related to emergency context (MHPSS IASC guidelines, PFA principles, etc.);
  8. Familiar with core principles of Children Rights, Participation, Do No Harm, Community and Family Support as well as Children Protection minimum standards;
  9. Experienced in working with local communities ((Parents and children) and authorities; preferably in the Bekaa.
  10. Reporting and data base entry skills.
  11. Excellent communication, reporting, and pro-active negotiation skills
  12. Network builder, able to handle pressure well and work in cross-cultural setting
  13. 85% field work and 15% Office work.
  14. Position requires availability and willingness to work outside regular office hours occasionally.
  15. Position requires willingness and ability to continue to function during a crisis situation, including during a World Vision response to a manmade or natural disaster
