General objective of the job
The Knowledge Management Officer is responsible for the management, maintenance and development of all Salesforce system. S/he delivers technical support advice and support for curriculum related activities.
S/he acts as a Database Support & Implementation Officer.
Position in the organisation
The Knowledge Management Officer is part of the Research, Monitoring and Evaluation department reporting to the Research, Monitoring & Evaluation Advisor.
S/he does not manage staff.
Result areas
Providing MIS implementation & Support
- Establishing the needs of users and monitoring user access and security;
- Monitoring performance and managing parameters to provide fast responses to front-end users;
- Considering both back-end organization of data and front-end accessibility for end-users;
- Maintaining data standards, including adherence to the Data Protection Act;
- Writing database documentation, including data standards, procedures and definitions for the data dictionary (metadata);
- Controlling access permissions and privileges;
- Developing, managing and testing back-up and recovery plans;
- Ensuring that storage and archiving procedures are functioning correctly;
- Capacity planning;
- Working closely with project managers, database programmers;
- Communicating regularly with technical, applications and operational staff to ensure database integrity and security;
- Deal with requests from users and provide them with technical support ;
Result: MIS implementation & Support is given to staff in such a way that issues are resolved at all times.
Knowledge and Experience
Relevant academic background (MIS, Computer Science, or relevant work experience …)
Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a similar position;
Salesforce knowledge is a plus.

Knowledge of program development, Database & Sharing systems;
Planning, analytical and organizational capabilities;
Strong planning and organizing skills to handle many tasks with deadlines.
Fluent English and Arabic;
Team player;
Result focused and cost-conscious;
Ability to work independently as well as cooperatively with team members;
