About Can’t Wait to Learn

Can’t Wait to Learn (CWTL) proposes new cost-effective solutions to the urgent challenges facing education for children in emergencies. By utilising innovative technological solutions with a focus on serious gaming, CWTL builds on concepts which have been successfully piloted in Sudan, Jordan and Lebanon.

Can’t Wait to Learn has shown that it has the potential to provide out-of-school children with access to education opportunities, including  rural areas where no formal schools exist. The programme uses education technology as part of an educational module  which offers certified curriculum level content through applied gaming and personalised pupil engagement.

The programme uses a range of innovative, results focused approaches: combining context specific applied gaming, and community-based facilitation instead of waiting for formal schools to be built.

Purpose of the role

CWTL aims to release an upgrade of the Sudan Maths game and an update of the Sudan reading game in the first week of March. As part of the development process, the game has to be thoroughly tested and any issues (bugs) identified should be reported back to the game developer to ensure the game is bug-free before being rolled out in Sudan. The testers play a crucial role in ensuring that the game works as it should. They will play through the Sudan Math game and samples of the Sudan reading game to localize bugs, report on them to the game developers, and subsequently check if the issues have been resolved. The game testers will be working in a team under the supervision of the test coordinator, with additional support from the quality assurance advisor and the CWTL team based in Amsterdam.

Required skills and experience

• Detail oriented and conscientious
• Fluency in the English language
• Fluency in the Arabic language
• Comfortable with excel
• Strong teamwork skills
• Previous experience with software testing or gitlab is a plus

Period

• Feb 20^th 2019 – March 8^th -2019
• Feb 20^th – Feb 22^nd will be a training period in which the process of game testing and various software used for this is explained.

Fees

• Game-testers will receive a daily rate of 50 USD for each working day (including training days)
• The cash amount of fees will be issued by War Child Holland in Lebanon after the completion of the assigned task

نبذة عن برنامج أتوق الى التّعلّم:

برنامج أتوق الى التّعلّم هو برنامج يقترح حلولًا فعّالة للتّحدّيات الطّارئة الّتي يواجهها المتعلّمون، من خلال استخدام حلول تكنولوجيّة خلّاقة مع التّركيز على اللّعب الهادف. 

أثبت البرنامج نجاحه بعد اختباره خلال الفترة التّجريبيّة في السّودان والاردن ولبنان.

يتيح البرنامج فرصة لمساعدة الأطفال الّذين لم يدخلوا الى المدارس في المناطق النّائية مع ضمان فرصة الالتحاق المدرسي فيما بعد. يستخدم البرنامج تقنيّة التّعليم التّكنولوجي كجزء من عمليّة التّعليم الّتي ترتكز على المناهج المعتمدة مراعيةً المستويات المختلفة للمتعلّمين.

يستخدم البرنامج مجموعة من الأساليب المبتكرة للحصول على النتائج الآتية:

• الجمع بين الألعاب التّعليميّة-التّطبيقيّة ومهارات التّيسير عوضًا عن انتظار فرص تأمين التّعليم من قبل المدارس؛ 
• طرق تعليميّة مبتكرة مبنية على الابحاث؛
• السّعي لبناء الشّراكات المناسبة.

الغاية من هذا الدور:

يهدف البرنامج الى انهاء عمليّة تعديل اللّعبة الخاصة بالسّودان خلال الأسبوع الأوّل من آذار.

انطلاقًا من السّعي الدائم للتّطوير يسعى البرنامج الى تطوير وتدقيق لعبة السّودان مع ضرورة توثيق كل ما يتعلّق بالأخطاء والثّغرات الّتي يتمّ ايجادها وملاحظتها وارسال التّقارير المنجزة الى المسؤول عن برمجة اللّعبة لضمان خلوّ اللّعبة من الأخطاء قبل أن يتمّ طرحها في السّودان.

للمدقّقين دور مهمّ وحاسم في ضمان جودة اللّعبة وخلوّها من الأخطاء، سيعمل المدقّقون على اختبار نموذجًا للعبة القراءة الخاصّة بالسّودان ولعبة الرياضيّات الخاصّة بالسّودان من خلال اللّعب وارسال تقارير بكل الأخطاء الّتي تمت ملاحظتها ومتابعة عمليّة تصويب الأخطاء مع فريق البرمجة.

سيعمل المدقّقون كفريق وبالتنسيق والمتابعة من قبل منسّق البرنامج، مع الدّعم والمساعدة من قبل المسؤول عن ضمان الجودة وفريق العمل في المكتب الرّئيسي.

المهارات والخبرات المطلوبة:

- اتقان اللّغة الانجليزيّة؛

-اتقان اللّغة العربيّة؛

-مهارات عالية في العمل الفريقي؛

Excel - اتقان العمل على برنامج

- خبرات سابقة في العمل على تدقيق البرامج تعتبر مهارة اضافيّة.

المدّة:

20 شباط 2019 – 8 آذار 2019

 سيتدرّب المدقّقون من 20 شباط الى 22 شباط على عمليّة اختبار الألعاب والبرامج المختلفة.

الرّاتب:

سيتقاضى المدقّقون 50 دولارًا لقاء اليوم الواحد (بالإضافة لأيّام التّدريب)؛

ستوفّر جمعيّة "طفل الحرب" المبالغ المحدّدة لقاء تنفيذ وانجاز المهمّات الموكلة لكل مدقّق.
