Formulation of pre-feasibility studies and Camp Improvement Plans to improve the urban and built environment of the camp addressing the refugee needs in an integrated, participatory and developmental approach; in line with the strategies and policies of the Housing & Camp Improvement Unit (H&CIU);

Development of the Urban Improvement Program as an integral part of the Camp Improvement Plan;

Implementation of camp improvement initiatives in line with UNRWA's strategies, policies and guidelines, while involving the community in the planning process to improve physical and socio-economic well-being of refugees;

Supervision of physical and socio-economic assessments of shelters and living conditions in the camp for the compilation of detailed data-bases;

Developing a Participatory Management Structure in cooperation with HH&CI and maintaining coordination with Field Departments concerned, camp community and other stakeholders to ensure the implementation of an integrated planning process and implementation of a community driven participatory approach;

Supervision of preparations for a training plan for all staff concerned with the Camp Improvement Program including housing/shelter at the Field and Camp level in coordination with H&CIU;

Identification of short, medium and long term priorities of the camp residents based on the physical and socio-economic assessment, and assist in developing camp improvement proposals for fund raising;

Coordination of participatory design processes; Coordinates the production of detailed designs, drawings, BOQs, and tender documents providing quality control and guidance;

Contributes to writing project proposals by UNRWA; helps the community in writing project proposals;

Establishing a work plan for the implementation of the Camp Improvement Plans;

Supervision of the preparation of detailed project documents for the implementation of pilot interventions;

 

Supporting the process design of the Shelter Rehabilitation Project in all phases through:

evaluating and upgrading eligibility criteria, upgrading methodology of scoring shelter visits,

integrating the participatory planning component into the process,

Revisiting design process for eligible shelters and supervising architectural documentation;

Compiling a document of lessons learned starting from previous similar project in Rashidieh and Beddawi camps.

Building and preparing needed steps and documents for a partnership strategy with local committees and communication strategy with community

Carrying out induction, training sessions and regular follow-up for site office staff on communication strategy, team-building values and general participatory mindset.
