Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of the RH Programme Specialist and Head of office or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the UNV Youth/ RH Programme Assistant   will:

  • Provide overall assistance and logistical support to implementation of different components of UNFPA’s Youth and RH programs/projects/activities directly executed by UNFPA;
  • Provide needed support for enhancing and reinforcing coordination and collaboration among various entities/partners including participation in various coordination platforms (Health working group, Youth working group, Reproductive Health Sub Working Group, Clinical Management of Rape Taskforce among others) and ensuring necessary support for the coordination platforms lead and co-lead by UNFPA like for example in note taking, writing minutes of meeting, following up on action points etc;
  • Provide support as requested for the processes of planning, coordinating, implementing and evaluating Youth and RH related interventions as per agreed work plans with partners and consultants. This includes supporting mapping of services, desk reviews and collection of information, development/finalization/monitoring of annual work plans, conducting monitoring field visits, supporting the assessment of partners’ capacities and needs for the delivery of capacity development initiatives including through remote modalities such as on service delivery, communication, monitoring, documentation, referral, sustainability of activities etc…and support prompt communication of bottlenecks, sharing of updates/pictures/quotes to be used on social media, reports, newsletters, and support monitoring and adequate reporting (monthly, quarterly, annual reports; sector reports, donor reports, etc);
  • Support establishment of functional youth networks that act as positive change catalysts in their communities namely for youth empowerment and participation in decision making with focus on promoting access to RH and gender equality;
  • Provide needed support that ensures youth interventions are properly monitored, results accurately captured with proper documentation of the impact on youth so that best practices can be scaled-up, lessons learned and institutional knowledge retained;
  • Ensure youth program plans and activities are conducted in full consultation with youth groups and youth representatives, and that they promote gender equality and inclusion of marginalized or disadvantaged youth;
  • Follow up and support youth peer to peer approaches - with focus on RH - by providing necessary support for capacity development, encouraging and providing best practices in innovation and networking initiatives and in coordination with the innovation focal point;
  • Follow up on COVID19 related RH and youth interventions as needed and upon the request of the RH specialist and or head of office including support for desk review, collection of information, related procurement operations, development of communication material, reporting, etc;   
  • Perform an assigned Atlas role as per the UNFPA Internal Control Framework;
  • Perform desk review, data collection, data entry, analysis, reporting and documentation relevant to the assigned RH/youth work and upon the request of the RH specialist and or head of office;
  • Provide support to facilitate and coordinate various high level/donor visits to UNFPA supported RH/Youth projects;
  • Act as UNFPA Lebanon youth focal point with UNFPA Arab States Regional Office and ensure sharing good practices and following up on relevant actions;
  • Any other related tasks as may be required or assigned by the supervisor.
