Duties & Responsibilities:

  • To help in the development of a detailed weekly activity plan, indicating specifically the aim and the objectives of the activities to closely monitor results achieved with the beneficiaries;
  • To identify opportunities and constraints and any adjustments needed including additional staffing or staff training;
  • Hold planning and progress review meetings with other counterparts and other relevant partners; 
  • To provide technical guidance and direction for effective planning, implementation and monitoring of PSS and Parenting Programme targeting vulnerable children, adolescents and their families; 
  • To apply monitoring and reporting mechanisms on a variety of levels eg. qualitative and quantitative measures for programme development, information for donor reports, etc; 
  • To identify child protection cases and refer them adequately to other service providers. Child protection related issues may include, but not be limited to, exploitation and abuse in relation to sexual and other forms of violence, children associated with fighting forces, separated children, child trafficking, access to education, etc;
  • To highlight themes that need to be followed through capacity building for staff and partners, possibly in priority thematic areas such as psychosocial support, child separation, and armed forces/groups; 
  • To participate in the preparation, execution and organization of awareness sessions for the beneficiaries; 
  • To plan and request the material needed for the activities; 
  • To manage data entry and data reporting to TDH IT Data Manager related to the number of beneficiaries present on a daily basis in the SDC;
  • To weekly report to the Project Coordinator/Project Manager; 
  • To organize and conduct outreach plan for the identification of new beneficiaries; 
  • To organize and conduct assessment plan including households visits;
  • To be responsible for the proper use and basic maintenance of the animation material. To apply TDH IT code of conduct principle and guidelines;
  • To coordinate with TDH IT staff present in the same geographical area;

Qualifications & Experience:

  • University degree in social work, education, or a related field;
  • At least 1 year of experience with NGOs in community based work, preferably protection-related projects;
  • Experience in psychosocial support activities;
  • Strong understanding of refugee issues in the current Lebanon context;
  • Experience in community mobilization in deprived communities;
  • Good knowledge of the area/region and its local customs;
  • Excellent communications skills, with good understanding of relevant cross-cultural issues and ability to work with refugee and host community populations;
  • Written and oral communication skills in English high preferred;
  • Positive, respectful attitude and collaborative approach to problem solving;
  • Dynamic leader with creative problem solving skills, particularly in challenging situations;
  • Demonstrated attention to detail; ability to follow procedures, meet deadlines and work independently as well as cooperatively with team members;
  • Capacity to work in team and flexibility to take on new tasks;
  • Significant knowledge and understanding of the current political, economic, cultural and historical context of Mount Lebanon preferred;
  • Able to establish and maintain effective working relations with people of different cultural backgrounds;
  • Cultural sensitivity and adaptability;
  • Computer Literacy;
