Market Research Analyst
CONTEXT
IECD (Institut Européen de Coopération et de Développement) is a French non-governmental organization founded in 1988 and operating in the field of social and economic development in partnership with local institutions. IECD’s main sectors of action are vocational training and professional integration, assistance to micro and small enterprises and access to education and health for the most vulnerable. In Lebanon, IECD has been operating in the country since 1994 and opened a regional office in Beirut in 2007.
Semeurs d’Avenir (SDA) is a Lebanese association, created in 2010, registered under the number 1905. It is the operational partner of IECD in vocational and professional training.
Since 2013, SDA and IECD are present in Tripoli. They work on social integration of vulnerable youth through short technical training. IECD and SDA also do follow-up of beneficiaries for at least a year after the training and work on placement for better social integration. The two NGO’s have developed a good knowledge of the networks of local entrepreneurs and stakeholders such as the municipality of Tripoli, hospitals and youth and women's associations. They have also developed a network of trainers in Tripoli and in the North, which they use to train and coach youth.
Following the continues effort to leverage the local society these 2 NGO’s are looking for a Market Research analyst to survey North Lebanon’s market needs in terms of jobs opportunities specifically for women in vulnerable communities within the age of 15 to 35 years old.
The successful market researcher will be able to analyze autonomously qualitative data, market trends and make recommendations based upon their findings with respect to the project’s objectives, formats and approach.
MISSION
Under the responsibility of the current project manager, the Market research analyst is responsible of:
1/ Market research Plan
- Creating a project plan with the Project Manager that defines the scope, tools and methodologies to be used.
- Designing surveys to discover new career opportunities.
- Designing surveys to discover prospective women’s career preferences.
- Identify the fields that will complement the market needs and women’s career preference.
2/ Implementation of Market Research Plan
- Conduct the appropriate methods to collect the required Data.
- Collect and enter data for consolidation.
3/Reporting
- Consolidate information into actionable items and presentations
- Interpret data, formulate reports and make recommendations
PROFILE
Education: Higher education (bachelor or master degree)
Experience: 1 to 2 years, whether in the private, public or in a civil society organization
- Previous experience in the market research is a plus.
- Working experience in similar projects on the ground in North Lebanon
Skills:
- Arab language is compulsory
- Good editing skills in French or English
- Understanding and / or appeal for education and vocational training issues
- Good interpersonal communication, good representation
- Adequate knowledge of data collection methods (polls, focus groups, surveys etc)
- Confident with MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook.
Qualities:
- Understanding of the Lebanese north markets’ trends and needs.
- Experience in dealing or communicating with our target audience (especially the most vulnerable between Women from 16 to 35 years old) in terms of experience.
- Adherence to IECD values: respect of the person, always in the service of others, a professional commitment
CONDITIONS
Under the responsibility of: the current project manager of FCN
Location: Based in Tripoli with multiple field visits
Starting date: February of 2018, for 6 months renewable
Contract: Fixed-term contract (6 months contract)
