The project was set up in Al Sindibad library in the heart of Harat Al Tanak- a vulnerable community in Mina. We created an informal learning environment for children of the community to socialise and receive educational support.

Classes were taught classes in English, Arabic, and French and topics covered included language, science, maths, and behaviour as well as providing fun activities. The project ran through the summer and prepared the students for their return to formal education in October. There is a particular need for this in public schools as children are not always given the support they require. Furthermore, children are not able to move to the next grade if they fail exams at the end of the year. Given this, coupled with poor socio-economic conditions, only 2% of children will complete school in the area.
