Job Overview/Summary

Based on the principles of human rights and child right SAWA group targets children, youth and parents with cultural, social, educational and environmental objectives. Allowing children to live in protect and peaceful family environment.

SAWA is seeking a Human Resources Assistant to supports the operations of the organization by providing an effective and professional HR service covering the full generalist remit: organizational structure, employment, compensation, employee database maintenance, payroll, benefits administration, employee relations, orientation/training/development, and policy/procedure development, retention and succession planning.

 

Job Purpose:

The HR Assistant works under the supervision of the HR Manager. He/ She is responsible for supporting SAWA employees and managers on HR matters and for the implementation of the human resources policies and procedures.

 

List of responsibilities and duties:

  • Maintain a strong environment of ethics and uphold SAWA’s code of conduct.
  • Adhere to SAWA’s conflict of interest and anti-fraud policy.
  • Adhere to SAWA’s policies and procedures.
  • Monitor compliance with the local labor rules and regulations.
  • Prepare the payroll sheet and submit to the HR Manager.
  • Prepare performance appraisals.
  • Prepare warnings/terminations in coordination with the HR Manager.
  • Assist in the preparation of SAWA’s training policy.
  • Collect and maintain background checks.
  • Prepare/collect/update SAWA’s personnel files.
  • Prepare and review timesheets and fingerprint data.
  • Guide and support managers and employees on HR policies and procedures and monitor the implementation of it in line with the Internal Regulations and Lebanese Labor Law.
  • Conduct frequent field visits to handle HR related topics and support the bases with recruitment, performance management, capacity building, disciplinary measures, and other HR matters.
  • Conduct interviews and select applicants who meet the specified criteria for the position as per the recruitment process and in close coordination with the HR managers.
  • Develop recruitment plans based on organizational needs and select most appropriate recruitment methods to source candidates and create pool of talents.
  • Liaise with HR managers in developing and updating job descriptions and competency frameworks, while ensuring consistency and harmonization between bases and departments.
  • Support in generating the payroll and take part in the budgeting process.
  • Support management in detecting training needs through consolidating staff performance results, and follow up on action plans to improve staff capabilities.
  • Plan and conduct internal HR workshops and trainings for national staff according to organizational needs.
  • Fulfilling other duties of similar level as needed.
  • Carry out necessary backup.

 

Required Personal Qualities/Skills:

  • Good computer skills (Microsoft Office, Power Point, Internet and Outlook)
  • Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English
  • Solid reporting skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Organized and strong attention to details
  • Keen on Meeting Deadlines
  • Strong Presentation Skills
  • Strong understanding of HR services and Labor Law.

 

Experience required:

  • +2 years of experience in HR management
  • Experience at an NGO is desirable
