Translator

Main Function: We are looking for someone to assist us full time or part time with foremost, translation services, and if possible assistance with our social media work.
Salam LADC provides a platform for international volunteers, grassroots initiatives, and private and institutional donors to coordinate their efforts towards assisting and empowering refugee and other vulnerable populations across Lebanon, whilst also serving as a link to the major local and international actors.
Responsibilities:

Conducting themselves according to Salam’s mission and code of conduct.
Translation from Arabic to English and vice versa, as needed for any projects or other Salam LADC work when available.

Both written and oral
Work to compromise both time in the field on projects, as well as office work (phone calls, translating reports etc..)

Understanding the role as a translator, which is: providing accurate, and timely translation between our beneficiaries and coordinators/volunteers.
Providing accurate and prompt reports of any projects assisted, submitted in English.
Assisting with the social media schedule, comprising of bi-weekly newsletters, FB page, Instagram and Twitter.
Cooperating with local and international coordinators and receiving regular updates on their projects to fill in the necessary social media updates.

Essential Criteria:

Fluent in English: Written and Oral
Experience working in a humanitarian sector.
Some experience with social media channels.
Very strong interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with a diverse range of people.

Desirable Criteria:

Experience with fundraising within social media platforms
Experience as a translator
Interest in the refugee crisis and grassroots movements.
