RET Liban is looking to hire three (3) Youth Focal Points who are based in project implementation site.

Under the direct supervision of the Field Manager, the Youth Focal Point will perform the following duties:

  • Act as field focal point for RET Liban
  • Implement and supervise project activities for youth in a timely manner
  • Assist the youth activity facilitators for operational, financial and reporting tasks
  • Maintain regular written and verbal reporting with the Programme Manager and Field Manager
  • Ensure proper coordination between RET Liban and local partners
  • Develop and maintain project records such as databases and reports
  • Comply with internal policies, and RET's Code of Conduct and Manuals
  • Propose, constructively, alternative solutions to problems that arise in the work area

RET Liban is going to implement a project entitled “Strengthening social cohesion, promoting youth peace and leadership agency conducive of social stability” in Wadi Khaled and surrounding areas in Akkar Governorate.  The Project is funded by the Federal Republic of German Foreign Office.

The project will focus on Lebanese and Syrian youth and adolescents aged 12-25 years including males and females equally.

RET will establish a Peace Building & Social Stability Center to cater villages in Wadi Khaled to facilitate and ensure daily positive interaction between the Syrian and Lebanese communities. RET will deliver Awareness Raising Sessions on Peace Building, Social Cohesion and Community Stability to 2’400 participants. RET will provide 1’200 beneficiaries with legal aid/assistance sessions. RET will outreach 400 beneficiaries in community dialogue that aim at addressing the challenges and issues that threaten peaceful coexistence between Syrian refugee and host community members (sessions led by Psychosocial Counselor and Conflict Resolution specialist). RET will hold Youth Peace Camps targeting 400 beneficiaries attending three (3) workshops covering the following topics: (a) youth leadership & civic engagement; (b) conflict mitigation and resolution; and (c) building resilience and social stability.  RET will select 25 high-flyers who will be trained to act as mentors for the youth in their communities providing Peer-to-Peer trainings to 1’500 peers. RET will design and develop Knowledge Information Kits in Arabic on the issues of interest to youth.

RET will conduct peace-tech activities by training 200 beneficiaries on Responsible use of Social Media, RET will select 50 Responsible Social Media trainees for further training on the tracking, monitoring and reporting on anti-refugee rhetoric and messaging on social media platforms that fuels social instability.

RET with youth will organize Peace Events and Community Support Projects (CSPs) targeting 1’500 beneficiaries.
