Community Research Intern
Do you spend your time pouring over maps, exploring every corner of the city? Public Interest Design Levant (PID) is launching another project under its Neighborhood Development Initiative. We will be conducting a neighbourhood research project of the area around Innovation Factory Beirut in Mkalles, to be followed by a series of interventions to uplift the area. We want you to join us.
If you are eager to leave your desk and interact with people on the ground, this is the perfect opportunity to participate in creating an impact in an exciting urban initiative in Greater Beirut that will lead to real concrete action.
Our ideal candidate is an approachable individual, comfortable with speaking to strangers, who works well in a team, and is meticulous in gathering information. Someone who is passionate about making a positive change in a community, and considerate of people from all sectors of society.

About Lebanon’s industrial sector
How to collect data in the field
How to collect data using mobile data acquisition apps
Learn how to conduct a survey with residents of the research area
How to collect formal quantitative data as well as informal qualitative data
Urban Planning methodologies
How to work within a team of young professionals in a startup design ecosystem.
What We Require:
Engineering & Architecture students preferred
Strong communication skills - English and Arabic
Proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and AutoCAD
Proficient in Microsoft Suite Office
Organised and meticulous in data collection
Friendly and approachable
Creative and flexible
Socially conscious individual interested in urban initiatives.
Interest in nonprofit and community development.

Details:
The position begins ASAP for a duration of 3 months. This is a full time internship.
