We are looking for a part time Digital Communications Officer to join our team at The A Project. The A Project, a non-profit non-governmental organization based in Lebanon, works on sexuality, gender justice, and sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) and we envision a society where women and gender non-conforming people’s sexuality and mental health are reclaimed, cared for, respected, recognized in their diversities, and not weaponized against us. We are looking for a Digital Communications Officer who shares our vision and passion for social justice and who will bring their experience and knowledge to help us harbor support and portray our vision throughout our different platforms. The role includes providing support for The A Project’s online presence, social media coverage, and audience engagement through the organization’s online platforms including website, blog, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Podcast Soundcloud account among others. The Digital Communications Officer will also provide administrative support where needed and will work closely with and report to the Director of Knowledge Curation.

The A Project is small team with a big membership base. Similarly to the breakdown of our group, we particularly encourage cis and trans women, trans men, and gender non-conforming people to apply.

Tasks of Digital Communications Officer include the following:

  • Supporting the Director of Knowledge Curation in developing and implementing a monthly social media strategy.
  • Collaborate with the team on international and partner campaigns.
  • Reporting to the Director of Knowledge Curation on the monthly social media strategy plan. 
  • Managing, and engaging the audience of, The A Project’s various social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Soundcloud).
  • Keep The A Project’s social media weekly content tool up to date and current
  • Developing, in communication with different designers and artists, a cohesive visual identity to produce online and offline outreach material.
  • Promoting our sexuality hotline and increasing its reach, as well as our various calls, vacancies, activities, and events.
  • Monitor The A Project’s general email account.
  • Maintaining, categorizing, and updating The A Project’s mailing list.
  • Creating monthly MailChimp updates emails.
  • Work with Grant and Finance Manager to maintain and keep track of communications analytics (Google and social media analytics) and collect both qualitative and quantitative data and information related to communications. 
  • Provide administrative support for both in-person and virtual meetings including by taking minutes, and documenting actions and outcomes.

Requirements:

  • An interest in social justice and sexual and reproductive health and rights (desirable).
  • Knowledge of creative digital media tools (scheduling, creative mediums) that diversifies content interface (required). 
  • Knowledge in how to increase visibility and engagement online (required).
  • Strong written and spoken fluency in Arabic and English (required).
  • A minimum of one year of relevant experience (required).
  • Creativity, drive, initiative, organizational skills, attention to detail, and planning skills (required).
  • Basic design skills and technical expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.) (desirable).
  • Must be able to work as a team member and independently, with a high level of self-motivation, ability to manage periodic high workloads; a strong ability to prioritize and work under pressure (required).
  • Understanding of social and political realities in Lebanon and in the region at large (desirable).
