Première Urgence - Aide Médicale Internationale (PU-AMI) is a non-profit, non-political and non religious humanitarian NGO. Its objective is to bring about a global response to the basic needs of populations suffering from acute humanitarian crisis and to allow them to recover their autonomy and dignity. In close respect to humanitarian principles, PU-AMI promotes humanitarian access and dialogue with all components of the civil society in Lebanon, and delivers assistance based on the needs, regardless of religion, politics and ethnic matters. 

 

Today, PU-AMI is intervening in 21 countries in Africa, the Near East, Caucasus, Asia and the Caribbean to cover the needs of populations affected by conflict, natural disasters or economic crises.

 

PU-AMI in Lebanon has been implementing emergency and recovery projects in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, in Shelter Rehabilitation, Health and in Livelihood Recovery sectors.

 

SUPERVISION

OVERALL MISSION

  1. GENERAL OBJECTIVE

 

Under the direct supervision of the Food Security and Livelihood Team Leader, the Food Security and Livelihood Field Officer implements and follows up on the Food for Assets (FFA) and Food for Training (FFT) activities in the field, in accordance to contractual commitments and internal procedures.

 

  1. RESPONSABILITIES AND TASKS

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES AND LINKED ACTIVITIES 

  1. Activities implementation

 

      1. Identify and select beneficiaries for the FFA and FFT activities according to selection criteria;
      2. Register beneficiaries and follow up on their attendance on daily basis;
      3. Follow up on the schedule, content and achievements of the works implemented by the beneficiaries in coordination with the Team Leader;
      4. Follow up on schedule, content and achievements of the training(s) implemented by the training provider (partner local NGO) and based on partnership agreement;
      5. Ensure and monitor the distribution of activities-related kits: professional kits for FFT, safety equipment for FFA;
      6. Ensure participants’ satisfaction and mobilization through regular outreach, following-up with no-shows, drop-outs, etc…;
      7. Participate in the monitoring and evaluation of the activity outputs and outcomes, with the support of the MEAL department;
      8. Ensure a constant communication channel with beneficiaries and other stakeholders (municipalities, partner) and listen to their needs and concerns and refer cases to other departments/partners when needed;
      9. Participate in other activities, in Livelihood or other sectors, as per request of the  Deputy Field Coordinator, following PU-AMI integrated approach.

 

  1. Assessment and reporting

 

  1. Report every day to the FSL Team Leader on attendance and progress, highlight challenges and suggest solutions;
  2. Contribute to assessments (multi-sectorial, technical, rapid needs assessments), according to the needs of the base;
  3. Participate in needs assessment related to food security and Livelihood, and multisectorial assesments, according to needs in the base.

 

  1. Communication & Follow up

 

      1. Respond to beneficiaries’ queries with relevant information;
      2. Promote at household level and in the field better understanding of the project to ensure the success of the activity;
      3. Commit to respect donor’s requirements for special cases who need individual attention;

 

The tasks and responsibilities defined in this job description are non-exhaustive and can evolve depending on the project’s needs.

 

 

  1. PRIORITIES OF THE DEPARTMENT
  1. Finalize identification and selection of beneficiaries;
  2. Provide weekly planning of activities to implement/follow up;
  3. Provide daily reports on progress and challenges.

QUALIFICATIONS

Mandatory requirements

  • Language skills: Arabic, English is an added value.
  • Education degree: Baccalaureate / On-site training in social work, relief work or related fields
  • Work experience: 1 year experience in a similar position (NGOs/private companies) in a social work/ humanitarian context. Specific experience in cash-for-work activities, training activities and business development support activities in the frame of livelihood programs will be a strong asset.
  • Computer skills: Basic computer skills, knowledgeable with MS Office suite.
  • Others:
  • Valid driving license (1 year minimum)
  • Intermediate knowledge in in humanitarian and social work, and relief operations
  • Good knowledge of Akkar District.
