Purpose:

 

Plan International Lebanon is seeking a CP Project Coordinator with demonstrated experience in Child Protection, Case Management, team supervision, in support to Plan International’s programs in Lebanon. The Project Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating the implementation of an integrated Child Protection project in North Bekaa and Akkar.

The CP Project Coordinator will be based in Beirut with frequent travel to Bekaa and North Lebanon, and will be responsible for coordinating the implementation of an integrated Child Protection project in Bekaa and North Lebanon. Under the supervision of the Child Protection Manager, He/She will ensure that the projects’ objectives are met in accordance with donor requirements – adhere to strict timelines, ensure the production of quality & timely reports, ensure that the project outcomes are sustained and continually drive innovation and improvement within the project.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide technical support for the project including planning, coordination and monitoring/evaluation of all project activities in close relation with Child Protection Manager and in co-operation with Field Officers and other partner staff.
  • Maintain coordination and communication between the Child Protection Manager and Field staff for ensuring the quality of processes and outputs.
  • Maintain ongoing surveillance of the developing humanitarian and security situation in target areas and adjust activities accordingly.
  • Ensure that different sectoral activities are implemented in a coordinated and cohesive manner.
  • Coordinate daily aspects of the action across target areas while monitoring performance of the partners.
  • Ensure field supervision of the project operations in order to ensure the project is implemented in line with planned activities and expected outcomes.
  • Collect, update and share information related to project progress with Child Protection Manager.
  • Draft and input into weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports for both internal and external purposes.
  • Maintain regular communication with all project partners and stakeholders, and visits for project sites to ensure that the project achieves the goal.
  • Ensure timely submission of work plans and budget forecasts to Child Protection Manager.
  • Follow up on financial liquidation/settlement according to Plan’s procedures and submit spending reports for review and approvals.
  • Maintain compliance with Plan standard procedures and policies (e.g. procurement, financial, security, etc.)
  • Prepare quarterly success stories related to the project reflecting on the progress of the project in the community.
  • Coordinate the development of tools and materials needed for the implementation of the project with the M&E Coordinator, the CP Manager, CP Specialist and other technical focal points.
  • Support the development of assessments and consultations as needed to feed into project design and proposal development.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate working relationships with government, institutions, partner organizations, local NGOs, etc. in target areas.
  • Attend working group and task force meetings on a local level as required.
  • Ensure that all key donor compliance rules and regulations are adhered to for both Plan Lebanon and implementing partners.
  • Commitment to Plan’s position on promoting girls’ rights and gender equality in line with the Global Strategy and the Gender Equality and Inclusion policy; and integrating this into all aspects of work.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Minimum 3 years of experience working in a humanitarian context
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working in project coordination, management or monitoring
  • Strong experience in child protection programming
  • Bachelor degree (master’s degree is an asset) in social work, psychology, sociology, international relations or any other related field
  • Experience in programming related to child labourand/or child marriage are an asset.Experience in EU-funded projects is an asset.
  • Flexible work attitude and ability to work independently within a small team
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Excellent knowledge of Arabic and English mandatory
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Flexible work arrangement which requires frequent travel to Akkar and North Bekaa, including some overnight stays. Candidates must be able to balance field and office work.
  • Adherence to Plan International’s Child Safeguarding Policy, Code of Conduct/Prevention of Sexual Abuse & Exploitation (PSEA), and other relevant humanitarian standards and policies.
