BADAEL Outreach Consultants in Tripoli, Koura, Minieh,
Beddawi Camp, Nahr el Bared camp, Saadnayel and Joubjannine

Description
BADAEL is a project funded by MADAD/EU and carried out by Oxfam, UTOPIA, Association Najdeh and Beyond Reform and Development. BADAEL aims at supporting entrepreneurial initiatives with a social impact to better the socio-economic situation in 5 different areas in Lebanon: Tripoli (including Bared and Beddawi camps), el Minieh, Koura, Saadnayel and Joubjanine. BADAEL activities are open for Palestinians, Syrians and Lebanese. The project aims to:
- Engage local community members in identifying priorities for the local socio-economic development of their communities by recognizing local needs and opportunities in their areas.
- Train more than 9000 individuals, especially youth and women, on leadership and social entrepreneurship skills.
- Launch a competition and then provide financial and technical support to 30 to 40 entrepreneurial initiatives addressing challenges in the communities
- Network and campaign to advance Social Entrepreneurship as a way to support socio-economic development led by members of the communities.
Since one of the fundamental purposes of the project is to effectively spread the notion of social entrepreneurship, the activities have been divided into three levels: individual, public sector, and private sector.
On the individual level, the project targets thousands of individuals who will receive training on the basics of social entrepreneurship and how it generates income while also promoting social cohesion and active citizenship. On this level, various kinds of outreach activities are required, including but not limited to community events, community meetings, as well as synergies with local NGOs, educational institutions, public and private institutions. These activities will ensure that the targeted number of participants are recruited.
The project aims also to disseminate research findings and create venues for discussion and feedback in the communities. This will be done through dialogue sessions and townhall meetings.
