Once again, the Israeli war machine conducts an aggression on the Gaza Strip, already under siege for the past ten years, targeting notably civilians, media, and medical premises including ambulances. Hundreds of people (more than 621 according to the last estimations) already died and there are more than 4,000 wounded, among which 34% are children, women and elderly. More than 2,000 air strikes were launched during this aggression, and Israeli is continuing with a ground invasion, contravening to the fundamental humanitarian law.
The few Gaza hospitals which have not been bombed yet are operating in dire conditions. Already under strain with the severe blockade lasting since years, this new attack is putting further pressure on the medical system, which has to deal with an increasing number of needs and an extreme lack of facilities (drugs, ambulances and various medical equipment).
We, the Lebanese NGO Network and the Follow-Up Committee of Lebanese and Palestinian Civil Society salute the persistence of our people in Gaza and their resistance. Having ourselves experienced repeated Israeli aggression in Lebanon, we call for solidarity and support of the Palestinian population in its steadfastness.
Therefore, we ask International Organizations, Local and International NGOs, and all Private or Public Donors to help us meeting the urgent needs of the Gaza populations in terms of Primary Health Care. We are therefore organizing a collect of funds and medical equipment dedicated to Gaza (please refer to attached documents for practical information).
We also call for a rapid and efficient victim’s Evacuation Operations, aiming to give appropriate medical treatment to the thousands victims.
Finally, we call upon international community to lobby so that Israel halt its repeatedly war crimes against Palestinian People, and comply with the international resolutions it kept violating since decades.
The Humanitarian situation is catastrophic and unbearable, and we, the Lebanese NGO Network and the “Follow-up Committee” urge all the International Community for a full solidarity and support.
