Celebrate International Archives Day In Lebanon

Archives open their doors to the public
Visit archival institutions and learn how they help us understand our past and present. All over the world, and for the second time in Lebanon, archivists join together on 7, 8, 9 of June to allow the general public, the chance to discover the unique heritage of these institutions. It will be celebrated by all partnering institutions opening their doors to the public, offering guided tours and displaying examples from their collections.
Why International Archives Day?
- Raise awareness on the importance of records and archives - Highlight the benefits of records management for good governance and development - Raise awareness on the necessity of preserving archives for the long-term, and of providing access to them - Promote and bringing to the attention of a larger public the unique, extraordinary and rare documents preserved in archival institutions Improve the image of records and archives and enhance their visibility

This event is organized by the Modern Heritage Observatory (MoHO), a network of institutions and individuals from the Middle East and North Africa working for the preservation of the region’s modern cultural heritage.International Archives Day (9 June) was initiated by the International Council on Archives in 2007.
