About NAHNOO

NAHNOO is a research and advocacy platform for participatory policy-making. It is a youth-led non-governmental organization rallying volunteers across Lebanon to work towards an inclusive society, through advocacy campaigns that promote: Good Governance, Public Spaces, and Cultural Heritage.

Through multidisciplinary and participatory research, capacity-building workshops, and grassroots activities, we provide a platform for youth and professionals to lead the planning and implementation of advocacy campaigns and gain the skills needed to impact policy-making at the local and national levels.

 

About the coordinator role

The project coordinator’s main responsibilities are:

  • The effective and flexible coordination and implementation of various NAHNOO projects’ activities, related to the promotion of public spaces and cultural heritage.
  • The involvement of volunteers from different cities in NAHNOO’s work in complex participatory mapping activities;
  • Under the supervision of a senior architect/urban planner, the production of a variety of maps related to data collection activities in a number of cities.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead the production of maps to document urban research.
  • Participation in urban research and analysis
  • Participation in creating communication channels with various stakeholders in local communities.
  • Recruitment of volunteers to participate in research work.
  • Coordinate the organization of NAHNOO events and mentor volunteers in doing so
  • Act as a first point of contact for research volunteers, keeping them motivated.
  • Monitor the work of research volunteers to ensure quality work

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor degree, preferably in Architecture
  • Software skills: Autocad, Photoshop, Illustrator, Excel…
  • Research skills: Field research and analytical mind
  • Visualization skills: in particular through maps
  • Leadership capabilities and ability to work with a diversity of people
  • Team spirit and community outreach skills.
  • Good communication skills and ability to adapt to different environments.
  • At least 1 year of experience in project coordination and implementation of, preferably, similar project.
  • Excellent language abilities in Arabic and English.
