The Basic Literacy and Numeracy Educator (BLN Educator) will be delivering mainly Arabic language classes. The BLN program targets out of school children aged between 10-14 years. The objective of BLN is to enable children to acquire minimum knowledge in Arabic, English and mathematics in order to enter formal education or vocational education. Educators are engaged in the team in learnings but also in follow up and aim at providing a safe, secure, stimulating environment to enable children positive development.
Responsabilities:
Under the regular supervision of the head of center and the social worker, the educator will be responsible of:
- Teaching children Arabic language and monitor children progress and needs,
- Support the Social Worker in follow-up, data collection and data entry,
- Coordination with the social worker from education program but also, with special educator, inclusion officer and Child Protection and/or Youth team for referrals,
- Participate in animation and life skills sessions for children,
- Contribute to create a positive environment for children in the center,
- Participate in all meetings and trainings in the center of MS headquarters,
- Participation in caregiver meetings and follow up with parents when needed,
Requierments:
- Degree or proven experience in teaching (Arabic language),
- Experience working in Non Formal Education setting,
- Experience working with vulnerable children,
- Class management skills,
- Reporting skills,
- Coordination skills,
- Knowledge in English,
- Advanced Computer skills (data entry, writing, reporting),
