The starting salary package for this position is £40,500 GBP per annum, approx. 54,000 USD including all allowances

About MAG Syria Response Programme:

MAG has been responding to the Syria crisis since 2013 working to support the development from conflict by finding and destroying the explosive remnants of war, so that communities can raise their families and pursue their livelihoods in a safe and secure environment, free from fear of death or injury

 

About the role:

Due to expansion within the programme we are seeking a Community Liaison Manager (CLM) to work in our Syria Response programme  You will be responsible for leading a range of activities including non-technical survey, risk education and impact monitoring as well as designing and delivering mine risk education sessions and materials. Alongside this, the Community Liaison Manager will be expected to contribute to the design and development of data gathering tools and information management systems, supporting the development of revised impact monitoring tools and working with the programme to enhance their CL strategy.  MAG’s CLM’s are essential to our life-saving work and this is a great opportunity to take a leading role in this area of our work.

 

About you:

You will have experience of leading, motivating and managing national staff, have strong participatory learning and facilitation skills and experience of conducting assessments in order to design and implement appropriate interventions. In addition, you should have experience in designing and delivering formal or informal training, with the ability to organize and coordinate activities or projects. Previous experience in Risk Education, Community Liaison and Non-technical Survey is desirable. We would be especially pleased to hear from you if you have previous experience of working in the Middle East and/or with the Humanitarian Mine Action sector.

 

In this role you will be required to work in challenging contexts away from home comforts, you will need to be able to live and work in extremely challenging environments, where your skills and MAG’s work is needed most.

The successful candidate should also have strong skills in information management and impact monitoring. In addition, you will have solid experience in community based work and participatory approaches.

 

Fluent English and Arabic language skills are essential for this role
