Nursing Activity Manager – Bekaa valley

Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international medical humanitarian organization created by doctors and journalists in 1971. Today, MSF provides independent, impartial assistance in more than 60 countries to people whose survival is threatened by violence, neglect, or catastrophe, primarily due to armed conflict, epidemics, malnutrition, and exclusion from health care or natural disasters.

MSF in Lebanon currently has 2 projects mainly on primary health care and mental health, in Tripoli and the Bekaa valley.

-Place of work: Baalbek with regular movements in Bekaa

-Scope of responsibility:

Defining, coordinating and monitoring all care and nursing related activities in the project, according to MSF nursing protocols, standards and procedures, in order to warrant efficiency , quality and continuity of prescribed care;

Providing technical support to clinic managers, nurses, nurse aids and hygiene agents

-Function accountabilities include:

• Planning and organizing all nursing related activities (PHC, mainly NCD) and participating in the definition of annual planning and update of its associated budget in order to efficiently maintain the continuity of the standard quality healthcare
• Coordinating and supervising the implementation of the therapeutic protocols, procedures and standards, and providing technical support when needed, to ensure the quality of the nursing care, confidentiality and information traceability, patient surveillance, and the application of the therapeutic and sterilization rules by the health care personnel
• Working together with all clinic team to achieve quality of care for patients, maintaining patient’s confidentiality and dignity at all times and respecting the patient’s rights and conditions
• Reinforce the skills and competencies of nurses during nurse consultations in terms of a patient-centred approach as well as ensuring task shifting of duties in the clinics
• Make an assessment of the quality of care and organize any technical trainings or refreshers in collaboration with the technical referents
• Reporting to the line manager on any relevant information linked to nursing activities and participating in monthly reports

-Experience required:

• Essential working experience and management of at least two years in nursing activities related jobs; desirable working experience in MSF or other INGOs; management experience mandatory.

-Required qualification:

• Bachelor in Science of Nursing mandatory
• Arabic fluency compulsory,  working English (written & verbal)  mandatory
• Essential computer literacy (word, excel and internet)
