Roles and Responsibilities:

 

General duties and responsibilities:

  • To ensure harmed children or at risk of harm to identify and receive individual case management support by conducting documentation, assessments, action plans, direct service provision, referrals and follow ups for an assigned case load
  • To provide support to vulnerable children’s and families with protection concerns in the process of psychosocial support and case management.
  • To directly work with other caseworkers and service providers on management of caseload and referral
  • To act at all times according to guiding principles of Child Protection Case Management including:
  1. Ensuring confidentiality
  2. Prioritizing according to safety concerns
  3. Practicing Anti-discrimination
  4. Acting according to the best interests of the child
  5. Ensuring accountability
  6. Respecting professional boundaries and avoiding conflicts of interest

 

Case Management:

  • Act in urgent cases after working hours or during weekend.
  • Attend PSS activities at the centers, mobile activity for observation and identify cases.
  • Participate in supporting the identification of individual cases identified by the team or referred by other agencies and other sectors
  • Conduct psychosocial assessment of vulnerable cases, including environmental, emotional, behavioral, and social factors as well as resources and strengths that impact the individual well-being.
  • Plan with the Senior Social Worker/SAWC Work Team supervisor to conduct home visits.
  • Conducting parenting skills sessions at centers and beneficiary’s houses.
  • Ensure the preparation of accurate case plans for high-risk cases identified with clear outcomes and time-frame.
  • Advocate with different institutions and services providers to help beneficiaries to access needed resources and services.
  • Ensure coordination with other service providers in collaboration with the supervisor in the area of intervention for prompt referral, follow up and share information.
  • Manage, fill, and archive specific forms for profile cases, referrals and weekly reports to ensure confidentiality, accuracy and timeliness.
  • Monitor and follow up the outcome of the assistance provided.
  • Be available to provide basic emotional support for urgent cases.
  • Ensure the provision of emergency cash assistance for the most vulnerable clients, according to the needs of the clients, the agreed criteria, the internal procedures and under the supervision of the SAWC Team Supervisor/Protection Coordinator.
  • Participate in management hotline.
  • Participate in weekly casework allocation and planning meetings.
  • Ensure that data protection protocols are respected.
  • Be available to participate in meetings and training inside and outside the center including case management meetings, case conference meetings or any other meetings when required.
  • Communicate regularly with the Senior Social Worker/ SAWC Team supervisor for updates on achievements and challenges
  • Accomplish any other assignments allocated by line managers. 

 

Psychosocial activities:

  • Participate and collaborate in recreational, psychosocial, awareness activities conducted inside or outside of the center when requested on weekly basis.
  • Support the organization of specific events or activities inside or outside of the center.
  • Participate in the partner skills sessions.
  • Conduct Outreach assessments to identify cases.
  • Attend night shift activities on weekly basis.

 

Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Provide daily and weekly updates to the SAWC Team Leader and senior CW on cases assessed and supported.
  • Support the Senior CW in the production of daily and weekly reports to the SAWC Team supervisor, Protection Coordinator and Unit Coordinator.
  • Contribute to the update of the Makhzoumi Foundation case management system, UNHCR RAIS and maintain high quality, accurate and confidential case files.
