Lebanese Physical Handicapped Union

LPHU is a grassroots organization built by and for people with disabilities. We believe that we have an important role to play in arriving at our vision of society by working with people with disabilities, a population that has been traditionally marginalized. As such, our specific mission is the following:
• To defend the rights of people with disabilities; more specifically to work towards their access to equal opportunities and a quality life and to ensure that their basic needs (health, education, employment, socio-economic integration, freedom of choice) are fully respected and guaranteed;
• To eradicate marginalization and gender discrimination from the lives of people with physical disabilities;
• To mobilize people with physical disabilities to speak on their own behalf;
• To promote the spread of a culture of inclusion and right of participation;

Project's Objective:

   This project is mainly related to fostering the access to income and employment opportunities for the most vulnerable groups among the syrian refugee and the Lebanese host communities, particularly women, youth and people with disabilities, through the strengthening of their technical capabilities, access to employment opportunities available in the local labor market and the support of self-entrepreneurship mechanisms.

 

 

    Job Description:  

  1. To identify the training needs
  2. To develop and deliver training programs in marketing and management
  3. To identify whatever strong points, weaknesses, opportunities and obstacles in development (implementation) of training course.

 

Duties and responsibilities

  • In order to achieve objectives the Trainer will:
  • develop the concept of the Marketing and Management and teaching aids (including agenda, working methods and procedures, handouts and evaluation forms) which will be discussed with the Project Team;
  • advise on background materials to be distributed;
  • consult the opinion of the project coordinator and expert team;
  • draft the final training program;
  • develop the list of equipment and materials which is necessary for carrying out training sessions;
  • elaborate and submit the final report on the Marketing and Management training course

 

III.Methodology:

  1. • Participants (about 29 persons): Participants to Marketing and Management course are persons with and without disability that have already passed a training experience in LPHU and have the minimum knowledge about Marketing and management.
  2. • Selection of participants: Participants to Marketing and Management course were selected by the Project team based on pre-established criteria.
  3. • Logistics and equipment: The Project will provide all necessary equipment: computer, projector, flipchart, office supplies and other materials at the request of the trainer in order to ensure efficient completion of the training program.
  4. • Working language: Working language of the training is Arabic.
  5. • Training materials: The trainer will ensure printing of all training materials.

 

VI. Organizational Setting:

  • The trainer will work under direct supervision of the Project coordinator. He/she shall consult with the Project coordinator and project team during the assignment.
  • The trainer will work inside the office; at the place where Training will be organized, and will participate at all working meetings directly related to his/her activity.
  • The project Coordinator will provide the trainer with the necessary available information and materials for the fulfillment of tasks and will facilitate the necessary meetings.

V. Financial arrangements:

  • Payment will be disbursed in one installment upon submission and approval of deliverables and certification by Project coordinator, that the services have been satisfactorily performed.

VI. Qualifications:

  • University degree in Marketing, business,  economics or related fields;
  • Good knowledge about disability;
  • At least 5 years of extensive working experience in conducting trainings and consulting in marketing and small business development;
  • Skills in developing analytical and informative materials;
  • Ability to work in a team;
  • Excellent communications skills;
  • Initiative and resourcefulness;
  • Excellent computer skills;
