Job Description

LADE is looking for a Digital and Multimedia Officer to assist the Media and Communication Department in the technical and digital tasks.

The candidate will be responsible of working on and updating the visual identity of LADE, by creating visuals for presentations, events, projects and reports. He/she will also be responsible for all of LADE’s social media accounts, creating posts, follower interactions and project branding.

In addition, s/he will identify and maximise opportunities to raise the visibility and profile of LADE and manage the technical aspect of the Department’s needs.

 

Tasks

The role of the  Digital and Multimedia Officer  includes, but is not limited to, the following:

  • Create innovative and dynamic digital and visual content (including photos and video) for LADE’s social media outlets;
  • Produce visual content (photos, and videos) to support the production of the program related audio-visual in our thematic areas (elections, voter education, human rights, gender);
  • Script, edit and produce still photography, video and other audio-visual pieces;
  • Create visuals  and designs for presentations, reports and projects;
  • Design LADE’s publications including reports, brochures, flyers, infographics, etc;
  • Develop and produce multimedia pieces for use on websites, in multimedia presentations, and for interactive activities, including news packages, features, messages, ads, short videos, interviews;
  • Determine appropriate visual, textual and animated elements of projects;
  • Support the engagement of LADE members/followers in digital channels and action, including opportunities for storytelling and information sharing on members’ work and activities for a variety of audiences;
  • Provide editorial guidance, ensuring messages conveyed through audio-visual products are sharp, compelling and current;
  • Edit audio and video for a range of productions
  • Update LADE’s website with the content provided by the media team and manage all the technical aspects of it;
  • Assist in website maintenance, including but not limited to banner updates, content and images.
  • Produce high quality publicity materials, and design and edit web pages;
  • Track and analyse responses to social media content, and develop succinct reports highlighting trends and recommendations;
  • Assist the Media Department with any required task.

 

Education

Bachelor degree; preferably in Media Studies, Digital Media, Creative Writing, Mass Communication, Graphic Design Marketing or similar field.

 

Experience

  • Essential - At least two years of demonstrable similar work experience;
  • Fluency in both Arabic and English – written and verbal, with experience in copy-writing/editing;
  • Experience in producing high quality multimedia material; videos, photos and stories; ability to edit photos and videos;including creative storytelling using audio-visual and digital formats;
  • Experience with social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Google AdWords etc.);
  • Experience in using design software such as Adobe Photoshop and InDesign;
  • Experience in photo editing and design tools such as Photoshop, “Adobe Premiere” and “After Effects”, as well as video skills, audio editing etc.;
  • A proactive attitude with the ability to work independently, manage and prioritise an unpredictable workload and solve problems quickly, with limited support at times;
  • The capacity and willingness to be flexible and accommodating in challenging working circumstances;
  • Understanding and experience of the power of traditional and digital communications and how to harness it, and ability to effectively measure success and impact;
  • Excellent multimedia skills, including proven experience with website content management, publications and other public information tools;
  • Proven success in identifying and building audiences and engaging online communities in conversations around migration, social justice, and human rights;
  • High degree of attention to detail and commitment to quality;
  • Strong organisational skills, initiative and follow-through, ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure and juggle multiple tasks, and ability to work independently;
  • Motivated and creative with a strong sense of teamwork, professionalism, prioritisation and initiative;
  • Commitment to and understanding of LADE’s aims, values and principles.

The Lebanese Association for Democratic Elections (LADE) was founded in Lebanon by a number of activists in the public sector on March 13, 1996. LADE is a civil, independent and nonprofit organization specialized in elections and how closely they are linked to democracy. LADE is concerned with monitoring the elections in their different forms as well as studying the electoral systems and laws according to the international democratic electoral standards, especially standards that guarantee free, fair and transparent elections.
