Intern for Karma

About Karma

Karma is a Lebanese NGO registered at the Lebanese Ministry of Interior in November 2015 under the registration number 2565. Karma was founded in May 2015. Through fundraising and personal donations we raise money to pay for the tertiary medical treatment of refugee and underprivileged children here in Lebanon. Karma provides not only financial but also psyho-social relief for people who have already dealt with a lot in their lives. Karma believes that every child deserves access to healthcare regardless of nationality, religion, social class or diagnosis..

About the Team

Karma, an organization reliant on volunteers and their contributions, is recruiting a fundraising intern. This intern will work closely with Karma members and other volunteers in order to contribute to Karma’s overall strategy.

Eligibility

We welcome applications from undergraduates or fresh graduates, or those in the process of completing their masters degree. Those majoring in communications, business, public health, political science, social sciences, or similar are prioritized.

The internship period ranges from 3 months to one year based off of intern preferences. Interns will be expected to work for a minimum of 2 days a week.

Candidates should be knowledgeable about Karma’s work and should have working capacity in English. Arabic is also highly desirable, as are strong writing skills in both or either language.

Main Tasks

Under the supervision of the Programme Manager, fundraising interns will be expected to:

  • Identify, contact, and follow up with fundraising partners
  • Assist in developing a fundraising strategy and action plan
  • Coordinate with the communications team to promote private donations
  • Develop MoUs and contracts for indirect fundraising with stakeholders
  • Assist in other fundraising related tasks

Benefits

Internships are the doors to professionalism for young professionals. They not only allow you to get used to a professional setting, but also arm you with skills to be a competitive candidate for future employment opportunities.

Through this internship, you will:

  • Gain experience in the nonprofit sector in Lebanon
  • Become familiar with the healthcare system in Lebanon
  • Gain a greater understanding of non-profit management
  • Gain experience in fundraising
  • Pilot strategies in fundraising

The intern will receive a completion letter for their internship and Karma will sign-off on internship verification forms for university students.
