As part of KAFA’s vision to create a society that is free of social, economic and legal patriarchal structures that discriminate against women, a project entitled “Violence Against Women in Lebanon: Oral History”  will be implemented in partnership with UN Women aiming for reconciliation and peacebuilding, through a series of training activities.

Thus, KAFA is seeking qualified candidates for a field officer position to support the implementation of this community engagement project.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Project coordinator while working closely with relevant stakeholders and assist in the day-to-day operations and implementation of the project’s activities.
  • Collaborate with the Project coordinator and implementing partners and provide needed support to ensure efficient implementation of the project’s activities.
  • Outreach targeted community through field visits and networking with existing networks.
  • Assist in the planning of workshops, training, and other project events and activities as needed.
  • Collaborate with KAFA’s finance team in order to fulfill payments and other project expenditures.
  • Arrange for venues, transportation, and other logistics tasks.
  • Support the organization of networking events.
  • Maintain project records such as databases, reports, and records of decisions.
  • Ensure that all documents related to the project are properly filed and archived

As job descriptions cannot be exhaustive, the position holder may be required to undertake other duties that are broadly in line with the above key responsibilities.

PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS:

  • While working on a KAFA project, it is required to sign KAFA’s Child Protection Policy and KAFA’s code of conduct.

Key Characteristics:

  • Aware of GBV principles and adopting a feminist approach.
  • Minimum of two years of related experience in the administrative field. 
  • Familiarity with peacebuilding and community engagement.
  • Aware of the local context (Lebanese history), preferably with experience in “dealing with past”
  • Ability to work with women from different backgrounds and ages.
  • Excellent interpersonal and networking skills.
  • Spoken and written fluency in English and Arabic.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention-to-detail.
  • A self-motivated team player; able to prioritize tasks during tight deadlines.
  • The initiative and able to carry out tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Cultural sensitivity and adaptability.
