- Rationale
The International Rescue Committee (IRC) Education Program in Lebanon has been implementing a School Retention program in the last two academic years for marginalized Syrian refugee children in Lebanon. Materials for two levels (emerging and developing) have already been developed for Arabic, English, French and Math instruction. However, Retention program’s materials need to be revised based on the feedback of the program’s team.
The purpose of this consultancy is, therefore, to recruit a short term (25 days) technical consultant for the revision of the existing Math materials.

- Revise existing Scope and Sequence
- Revise existing lesson plans
- Revise and fine-tune tutor training materials for Math
- Revise and modify students math booklets

- Qualifications Required
- Strong understanding of educational context in Lebanon and the Lebanese curriculum (preschool, elementary and middle school)
- Experience in education sector including teaching Math (elementary level)
- Experience in lesson plan and curriculum development and/or design
- Experience with educational materials development/and or design (specifically for the Syrian refugee student/child population)
- Proficiency in Arabic, English and French
- Reporting line
Reports to the IRC Education Manager
- Work location(s)
She/he will be housed at the IRC Zahle offices and/or offsite, as needed
- Schedule :
Short-term contract (with deliverables as of August 17th , 2018); 25 days excluding weekends
