Background:

We are seeking a Communications Intern to help International Medical Corps with a variety of tasks that will help the organization’s communications become more efficient and effective. The work will primarily involve online communications, but the subject areas may cover the range of International Medical Corps’ work, from infectious disease COVID-19, to primary healthcare, mental health, gender-based violence and more.

Job Purpose:

The Communications Intern will report to the Communications Manager, and will collaborate with the health, mental health, GBV, field and technical colleagues as needed.The position requires extensive travel to the field especially in the coming few weeks as we respond to the emergency situation in the wake of the port explosion in Beirut.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Act as a focal point with different field teams and gather pictures/videos from the various field activities happening simultaneously in Beirut area
  • Act as a focal point with different field teams and gather pictures and other content from the regular PHCC activities and other activities happening in all areas outside of Beirut
  • Gather content from the other area teams and assist the communications manager in developing it and disseminating appropriately
  • Archive all pictures/videos and other content on International Medical Corps’ server and ensure transfer to HQ’s server
  • Write a weekly report about communications activities, online and offline, for documentation purposes
  • Assist the communications manager in developing and creating IEC materials
  • Assist the communications manager in creating content to be used on International Medical Corps’ Lebanon Twitter page
  • At the request of the supervisor undertake responsibility of miscellaneous projects not falling under responsibilities underlined in this job description
