"Protection Field Officer 1"

Job purpose:
The Protection Field Officer contributes to the implementation and monitoring of ICRC protection activities in the North in coordination with the protection delegate.
Position within the hierarchy:
This function reports to: Protection Delegate
Responsibilities:
Implements protection activities under the supervision of the line manager.
Contributes to analyses of the security, socioeconomic, cultural and political environment relevant to the ICRC, shares relevant information with team members, and reports any change in the situation.
Contributes to the design and implementation of protection programs.
Collects, compiles and interprets protection-related information (with appropriate care for staff risk management).
Analyses and contributes to written internal reporting and activity programming (as part of institutional exercises).
Helps to make internal and external meetings meaningful (through preparation, participation, reporting and follow-up).
Develops and maintains contact with the municipal/regional authorities, local/regional National Society branches, the local population, suppliers, etc.
Prepares, participates in and reports on all aspects of field assignments.
support other team members in implementing and monitoring protection programs..
Fosters a conducive environment (multidisciplinary approach, good team dynamic) among team members.
Ensures the sustainability of their work and puts in place a system for archiving their work for the purposes of institutional memory.
Analyses of the humanitarian, political and social security situation
Proposing new orientation of operation according to the situation
Implementation of tracing and restoring family links activities
Report protection related cases identified during field trips, by visitors to the office or reported in the press, to the protection delegate
Qualifications and skills:
University degree in political science or international relations or international law or humanitarian studies
In addition to the native language, excellent command of written and oral English, French is an asset
Ability to have a very good report writing skills
Computer literacy
Typically, 3-5 years confirmed relevant experience supporting projects and programs in similar fields.
Interacts with a greater level of autonomy with a network of local interlocutors
