Minimum required qualifications and experience:

  • A Masters’ degree in Gender studies, Sociology, Development studies or any other relevant field.
  • At least 20 years of experience in gender projects and/or strategic planning and development projects focusing on human rights, including a minimum of 5 years as a trainer
  • Experience in civil society network building
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills is mandatory
  • Previous experience working in community empowerment
  • Understanding of the aspects of group dynamics and personal psychology
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills
  • Professional working knowledge of English and Arabic is required
  • Excellent coordination and team work skills

Location of the consultancy: Beirut, Lebanon

Starting date: November - December 2018

Period of implementation: 2 days, each day of at least 6 contact hours excluding breaks

Tasks and deliverables: 

- The expert shall prepare the materials and content of a full day workshop to set the objectives of the network and the strategy, under BALADI CAP project. The expert shall deliver one full-day workshop to set the objectives and strategy of the network under the Human Rights Network project funded by BALADI CAP. The expert shall deliver six hours interactive workshop to civil society organizations representatives within the context of setting the objective and strategy of the Human Rights Network.

- The expert shall support in the development of the action plan and defining the advocacy issue during one full day workshop under the Human Rights Network project funded by BALADI CAP. The expert shall review and finalize the following: The Charter, Bylaws and strategy of the HRN funded by Baladi Cap, and the action plan for the advocacy project under the HRN. The expert shall deliver a one full day workshop to CSOs of the HRN in order to define advocacy issues and develop an action plan. Finalization of the HRN structure, Bylaws, Charter and strategy along with the advocacy project action plan.
