Public Debate About "opening Horsh Beirut To The Public"

Public forum debate about Opening Horsh Beirut to the publicWe would like to invite you to a public discussion about the challenges that stand against the opening of Horsh Beirut Horsh Beirut, the largest green park in Beirut, is a public property and a right for all. Yet, it has been closed for public for more than twenty years and only few people are granted the right to access it.
After designing and re-habilitating Horsh Beirut ten years ago, the municipality still did not open it for public and never provided legitimate reason for this decision.
We demand a clear decision to open Horsh Beirut and provide us with a date for its opening. Our right to public spaces is inalienable, and we have the right to access it with no restrictions.
We will not stop campaigning for our right to have public spaces in Beirut. Green parks, especially in a polluted city like Beirut, is a basic social and public health need, as well as an essential space for interaction among citizens who have always been victims of political and sectarian divisions.
