Your responsibilities

 

  • Proper implementation in close cooperation with the participating local organisations as agreed in the official project documents signed by Hivos and the donor.
  • Coordination of all project activities in cooperation with the selected partners and with consultants hired by Hivos for specific tasks.
  • Preparation and timely submission of annual work plans, M&E reports, narrative and financial reporting to the financier of the project and ensuring the quality of the reports.
  • Communication about the project’s activities and results via Hivos website and news outlets whenever feasible and viable
  • Proper registration of the project in the Hivos project administration system and timely reporting to the back donor, following the proper procedures and formats.
  • Contribution to the design and development new projects within the field of women’s empowerment and gender based on lessons learnt from this project.

You are answerable to the Director MENA at Hivos.

 

Your profile

 

You have a university degree in relevant disciplines and with a thorough understanding of women’s rights and gender issues. You also have in-depth knowledge of Syria and Syrian civil society.  You have at least three years of experience in working with civil society activists from the Middle East, preferably from Syria. You subscribe to the humanistic identity, approach and strategic choices of Hivos and are able to represent this to the outside world. You are entrepreneurial and result oriented, well organized, responsible, independent, decisive and energetic with excellent communication and social interaction skills, as well as excellent verbal and writing skills in English and Arabic.

 

What we offer

 

Short-term consultancy until 31 Dec 2020, as soon as possible. Depending on your experience and skills your salary will be in accordance with Hivos’ Lebanon-based salary scale and comparable to national salaries provided by other international NGOs in Lebanon. Travel costs are compensated in accordance with internal regulations and legal requirements.
