GVC is an Italian NGO founded in 1971. Actually is working in 22 countries worldwide. GVC presence in Lebanon dates back to the begin of Syrian Crisis and since then GVC has been implementing emergency and development projects in Bekaa financed by International Donors mainly in WASH sector.
Job Title: Communication Worker
Project Framework: Increasing the resilience of Syrian refugees in the Bekaa through integrated protection programming (ECHO Funded project)
Duty Station: 100% North Bekaa (Al Ain)
Line Manager: Protection Coordinator
Responsible for: Collection of referral cases gathered through phone calls on GVC`s Helpline. Ensure information from beneficiaries are timely reported to GVC emergency team and that the related follow up is being effectively carried out.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- To answer GVC hotline phone calls and report to the internal referral database
- To conduct telephone assessments related to the vulnerability of identified people in need of protection interventions
- In close coordination with the Protection Officer and the Community Empowerment Officer, to ensure the referral system is followed up, updated and cases are properly addressed and closed (timeframe depending on the type of case)
- To ensure timely referral of vulnerable individuals and households in need of emergency support to the Protection, Community Empowerment and WASH teams.
- To ensure that case and related data are being managed in confidentiality and is compliant with GVC accountability principles and that are properly inserted in the relevant data-bases
- To ensure proper liaison with the Information Management Department as much as data base feeding and management are concerned.
- Any other duty the line manager may consider necessary within the scope of the project.
REPORTING
Daily and weekly reporting to the Protection Coordinator.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma.
- Very Good user-level skills in Word, Excel and data-base management
- Arabic and Fluency in spoken and written English

- Strong communication skills over the telephone
- Highly organised and able to work independently and respecting deadlines
- Strong sense of responsibility, flexibility and willingness to work long hours

- Excellent team-player skills with people of different backgrounds
- Previous work in NGOs will be a strong asset
Experience required:
- 2 to 3 years
