There will inevitably be changes in the emphasis of duties as the research project progresses from the planning to the implementation phases. It is expected that the hired person recognises this and adopts a flexible approach to work and be willing to adapt to changes accordingly.
Responsibilities
The recruited person will be responsible for:
- Planning with the Co-investigators the research design, methods, work schedules, data collection and analysis and deliverables of research projects
- Ensuring the timely achievement deliverables and coordinating among Co-Investigators
- Carrying out the research tasks specified in a timely and effective manner
- Managing project coordinators and research assistants
- Brainstorming new projects and applying for grants
- Assisting in ensuring the overall requirements of the research project are met
- Contributing to manuscript writing for publication and dissemination of results
- Liaising with relevant stakeholders to the program
Qualifications and Application
- Required Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a health related field, with at least 3 years of research experience in global health sciences, public health, health systems, or other related fields
- Previous experience in an academic research environment coordinating research projects
- Experience managing personnel and project budgets
- Relevant previous experience of writing research proposals and grant applications
- Previous experience in conducting scoping/systematic reviews
- Experience in preparing research tools (surveys, questionnaires..) and completing all necessary documentation to ensure that research meets the ethical IRB guidelines
- Advanced writing skills and excellent manuscript write up, presentation, and documentation skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Fluency in spoken and written English and Arabic
- Proven excellent analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Public engagement experience is a plus
