Function effectively as a member of the Community Mental Health Team (psychotherapist,
psychiatrist, case managers, nurses) in the coordination and provision of Mental Health and
Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) services

- Collaborate with the CMHC staff on the development and implementation of each patient’s
coordinated recovery-oriented mental health care plan
- Complete the appropriate CMHC intake, assessment, and ongoing monitoring in accordance with
CMHC policies and procedures for each consultation
- Be familiar with and work to consistently follow the treatment and timeframe guidelines within the
condition-specific care pathways
- Provide appropriate psychotherapeutic treatment and psychosocial support to patients
- Sensitization and capacity building among PHC staff, the refugee community and host population
concerning MHPSS
- Provide appropriate diagnostic services to patients in need
- Assist CMH team members in the development and implementation of preventive mental health
measures and psychosocial activities in the clinic and throughout the local community
- Take an active role in all proposed research and/or MH assessments to be conducted on the field
- Actively build self and others’ capacity

Main activities:

1. Function effectively as a member of the Community Mental Health Team:
- Work well within a multidisciplinary CMH team on the mental health concerns of all community
members in need.
- Clinical documentation of all individual and group therapy activities
- Provide organized weekly reporting on activities and collected data.
- Actively participate in weekly internal CMH Team meetings.
- When required, participate in meetings with key actors.
-When required, participate in mental health coordination meetings for the Bekaa.

2. Be knowledgeable of all mental health conditions and provide appropriate psychotherapeutic
interventions
- Provide appropriate mental health support and/or treatment through individual counselling, group
therapy, and psycho-education to all beneficiaries in need
- Work directly with the case management team to develop individualized intervention plans and
follow up at the CMHC, home, or shelter
- Work on building and encouraging important support networks within and amongst the target
population.

3. Be knowledgeable of all CMHC processes, assessment tools, forms, policies and procedures

4. Work closely with the MH Nurse and MH Case Managers
- Provide proper, timely response/feedback to all staff regarding beneficiaries
- Provide appropriate psychosocial support to all beneficiaries
- Referral of case-managed beneficiaries to all other needed services.
- Provide support and guidance to the case managers who are facilitating community support
groups
- If required, accompany other CMH Team members on visits to beneficiary’s place of residence.

5. Community mental health interventions:
- Participate in defining effective and culturally appropriate approaches and interventions at the
community level.
- Conduct mental health sensitization, public information sharing, and destigmatization activities in
the CMHC, PHC/SDC, and throughout the community, as required
- In coordination with the mental health team, develop evidence-based mental health interventions
at the community level
- In collaboration with the mental health team, explore and detect potential risk factors influencing
mental health status of the target population
- Advocate on all mental health related issues and/or concerns
- In collaboration with the mental health team, develop and implement innovative preventive mental
health interventions and psychosocial activities (such as art therapy, psychodrama, etc.) to be
undertaken within the PHC/SDC as well as the wider community

 Requested Competence/Skills/Profile: 
 
Requested Competences/Skills:

-The candidate should be a licensed Psychologist in Lebanon.
- Master’s degree in Psychology with post-graduate training
- Following the internationally accepted bio-psycho-social concept of mental health
- Training in IPT and/or CBT preferred
- At least 1-2 years of experience in NGO work  
- Arabic and English language are mandatory
- Good coordination and communication skills are key
- Belief in a holistic community-based approach towards positive mental health 
- Clear commitment in the project thematic
- Ability to cope with difficult security context
- Preferably from the Bekaa region
- Excellence in organizing, planning and prioritizing tasks
- Ability to identify strengths and weakness and in proposing shared solutions for the continuous improvement of providing quality services
- Strong ability to observe, analyse, report and take initiative
- Ability to work with a team as well as to work independently
-Ability to seek, collect, and critically analyse data and information needed to achieve the tasks. 
- Ability to communicate any technical or non-technical topic with clarity and to share any important project information with the team
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to reflect on your own work, recognize what needs improvement, and propose solutions
