About RUWAD HOKOUK (FR)
Ruwad Houkouk FR, is working toward:
1) promoting the protection of stateless person by advocating for legal reforms and enactment of a comprehensive Nationality law, and modernizing the Personal Status Records law, and initiating a new law on Personal Status;
2) Strengthening access to justice for the refugees and stateless community living in remote rural areas. Both components complement each other and should lead to improve the humanitarian aspects of this population in terms of right to identity and to basic fundamental rights such as education, health, and work.
Project Objectives To reduce and prevent statelessness and promote legal protection for refugees and statteless persons in Lebanon. Improve access to legal protection for refugees and stateless persons through direct provision of services, networking and monitoring of relevant actors, including public institutions. The organization and running of the newly established FRH Center for Legal Services in Akkar/North Lebanon.
Position Description
The Project Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management and implementation of the Project, including all substantive and administrative matters.
Responsibilities include
- Implement, manage and coordinate all Ruwad al Houkouk activities
- Elaborate and conduct an orientation and training program for the new staff and volunteers and facilitate integration of new staff and volunteers into the office environment, including issuing passwords and office e-mail addresses.
- Coordinate the on-going and regular needed training of the staff and volunteers to the office under the supervision of the Director
- Elaborate the strategic planning and priorities of the teams; provide the necessary and needed support for the teams for the implementation of the activities in time; and monitor the performance to ensure respect for deadlines, good quality and standards of the teams work
- Ensure that the teams are respecting and adhering in the implementation of the tasks to the Association’s policy and office operational policies and procedures; ensure that all new staff and volunteers are provided with copies of the office policies manual and training manual
- Ensure the coordination of the various components of the programs in order to ensure coherence and synergy between the program components
- Document all conducted activities, including memorandum of understanding, partnership agreements with local and international partners.
- Monitor projects budgets, and assist with the preparation of financial statements.
- Assist in developing new projects; elaborate planning and development of new programs/projects
- Contact and cooperation with the relevant local authorities, IGOs, NGOs, and other relevant parties related to the implementation of the activities under instruction of the Director.
- Record-Keeping and Reporting: Maintain employee files of all staff; provide the Director with a monthly report of staff time worked, and leaves, maintain updated staff and interpreter contact lists. Maintain updated records of all pro bono lawyers.
- Prepare drafts of reports to donors and funders, compiling information provided by the team leaders.
- Prepare and submit monthly evaluation of the team performance to the Director
- Prepare and submit monthly qualitative and quantitative progress reports to the Director
- Prepare and submit annual qualitative and quantitative report
- Ensure the overall office management in the absence of the Director
- Undertake any other duties appropriate to the position
Requirements:
- Good communication skills - Fluency in both oral and written English and Arabic, French will be an asset.
- Minimum 4 years’ experience working in project management and office administration.
- Good organizational skills
- Basic accounting skills
- Previous experience working for other human rights organization is mandatory
- Master degree in social science, preferably in business administration or its equivalent
- Excellent level of computer literacy, including familiarity with all MS Office programs
- Personal commitment, flexibility, efficiency, ability to work under pressure
