About the employer:

forumZFD provides training and project support in Germany and abroad. With its members, it advocates the renunciation of violence-based policies, reinforcement of civilian resources in the state and society and democratic participation of all social, ethnic and religious groups.

forumZFD currently has more than 80 employees working in 14 locations in Germany, the Middle East, the Western Balkans, and South-East Asia. Twenty-five people are employed at the head office in Cologne. They organise the project work in Germany and abroad, public relations, lobby and training activities.

forumZFD has been working in Lebanon since 2009. The team consisting of 15 staff members develops projects in the programme areas of Dealing with the Past, Community Mobilising and Capacity Development.

 

Description and Tasks:

As a Programme and Communication Coordinator you support the Lebanon Programme and the communication work in coordination with the Head of Programme. Upon agreement, selected tasks for the project work and general support will be rendered to the project teams.

 

Specific tasks within the Lebanon Programme of forumZFD

  • Support, preparation planning, documentation as well as filing for the Lebanon programme work (e.g. team workshops, annual planings, team retreats, ...)
    • Supporting the strategic and conceptual development of programme areas and for the LBN programme
    • Managing diverse knowledge/contact management procedures/systems
    • Communication with partner organisations
    • Supporting and managing interns of the programme
  • Independent management of public relations for the Lebanon programme
    • Support the production of, update and write/edit relevant texts for PR and communication
    • Managing the website and facebook page and other communication channels of the Lebanon Programme
    • Ensure visibility policies and communication strategies
    • Support for Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation

 

Your profile:

  • Advanced university degree;
  • Several years’ experience in programme/project work, administrative and/or communication positions
  • Profound knowledge of tools in communication and public relation including social media
  • profound knowledge of the political situation and substantial work experience in and with NGOs;
  • Strong intercultural sensitivity and the ability to work in a team
  • Strong ability to work under time pressure;
  • Competency in using IT applications and content management systems,
  • Excellent written and spoken command of English and Arabic and an affinity to text production;
  • Distinct ability to think structurally, and strategically;
  • Experience and knowledge in the field of conflict transformation is an asset
  • Being open to closely work with all communities in Lebanon.
  • Willingness to drive and travel  inside of Lebanon.
  • Willingness to work on weekends and overtime on exceptional basis (will be compensated)

 

We offer:

Participation in a growing organisation with remuneration based on a salary scale (1,300-1,700 US per month, depending on level of experience and scope of tasks) including comprehensive social security benefits, transportation and a private medical insurance for the time of employment. Capacity Development including participation in trainings in Lebanon and abroad (among others, at forumZFD’s Academy for Conflict Transformation).
