CONTEXT OF THE MISSION:
CFI is a French media cooperation agency mainly funded by the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, and is responsible for coordinating and implementing public aid policy for promoting and enhancing the media in developing countries. CFI is currently involved in around thirty projects that fall within four major programmes: media and pluralism, media and enterprise, media and development, and media and human resources.
In the frame of a multisectoral program implemented by a European consortium, CFI is contracted as an implementing partner to improve a direct access to information for both Syrian refugees and vulnerable host communities in Turkey, Jordan, and Lebanon. The goal of the project is to ease social cohesion at the community level by covering information gaps on different topics. This will imply collecting services-oriented information across the 3 countries, and disseminating it through different communication channels.
In the frame of this project, CFI is recruiting a Research and Communication Officer, whose roles and responsibilities are detailed below.
LINE MANAGEMENT:
The Research and Communication Officer works under the direct responsibility of the National Project Manager and in liaison with the Regional Coordinator.
FUNCTIONAL LINKS:
- The Communications/Project Officer works closely with the national project manager based in his/her country of affectation.
- He/ She coordinates with the Videographer as well as with the Social Media Officer.
- He/ She also liaises with the Regional Coordinator.
KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Development of communication campaigns:
1. Participate in the conception and development of our communication campaigns.
2. Conduct research on selected topics, in coordination with authorities and relevant stakeholders on the ground, and draft reports.
3. Identify success stories, characters and locations for the shooting of our video clips.
4. Write scripts that will act as guidelines to follow during shooting the video clips.
5. Support the shooting of our video clips.
6. Stay in contact with the office of the Director General of the Ministry of Social Affairs for purpose of identifying SDCs and validating scripts.
7. Coordinate with the Social Media Officer and National Project Manager on Communication messages.
Production of written content:
Draft scripts, articles, portraits, interviews, success stories with a journalistic approach to support our communication campaigns.
News watch:
1. Monitor the developments of the political context, especially in relation with the refugee crisis.
2. Keep the National Project Manager posted of changes in the regulatory framework.
3. Inform about interesting contacts and possible opportunities and partnerships to increase CFI outreach.
Perform other tasks as required by the National Project Manager and the Regional Coordinator.
